Crossroads Country Market Meet Crossroads Country Market, a new business that just opened in Climax. When you walk in, you feel the welcome atmosphere and warmth of the store. Take a look around and you’ll see lots of your favorite foods that you’ve grown up with. Crossroads is one of the few stores that feature numerous brands and products from North Carolina, many from right here in Guilford County like Boar and Castle Sauce and Neese’s Sausage, and even Hursey’s BBQ and B r u n s w i c k S t e w f r o m We s t e r n Alamance County. When they saw the signi cant need in the area for quality grocery products at a good price they decided to open Crossroads Country Market. They have made good, quality local food affordable for the residents of Climax, Pleasant Garden, Liberty, Forest Oaks and many neighboring communities. The owner of Crossroads Country Market talks about how the store isn’t just a place to buy exceptional locally sourced meats from Bradd’s Family Farm, Mrs. Pumpkin’s Chicken Pies and desserts, Cloister Honey, Opal’s Candies, Cackalacky Sauces, Musten & Crutch eld Pimento Cheese and so much more. He says the companies that supply the products in the store aren’t just other small businesses; they ARE the community. He goes on to say “When you support the store, you’re supporting your friends, your neighbors, your family, and local farmers. We’re all working hard every day to bring the best local products possible to you through Crossroads’ doors, keeping the community growing and thriving.” A diverse Marketplace is a part of the store as well, where customers can shop for gifts, handcrafted items, collectibles, antiques, sports items and even 3-D printed specialty items. They even have a Bargain Room where everyone can nd craft supplies, toys or lots of other items at a deep discount and without traveling far.

Calling the PGHS Community!!!!
Peggy Sue’s
At PGHS we want to make sure that each child is able to have a great holiday season. We offer our families this opportunity that is only possible with the help of Holiday Sponsors. Without sponsors, these children will not be able to have the holidays we know they could have. As a sponsor you will receive a "Need and Wish List" for a student. We ask that the sponsors provide one complete out t as well as one thing from their needs list and one thing from their wish list, but you are not limited to that!

If you are interested or have any questions, please call our student advocate Ms. Allred at the school or send her an email, eallred@randolph.k12.nc.us.

Liberty Ruritan Surprises Local Member with A Scholarship!
Shelby Wright a Liberty Ruritan member and junior at Western Carolina University was recently awarded a Ruritan Scholarship to pursue a degree in Social Work. Ms. Wright is focusing on suicide, crisis intervention, and drug use counseling. She feels called to this field because she believes someone “needs to have the hard conversations. When it comes to drug use and suicide, those experiencing these things, are ill. I think that we have to treat these things as the diseases that they are, rather than judging or bullying.” After Ms. Wright graduates in 2024, she plans to work at the VA in veteran suicide and crisis counseling, as well as in harm reduction centers. She feels certain the courses involving therapy role play scenarios and mock therapeutic interview sessions allows her to apply what she is learning to real world scenarios will be beneficial in her career. Shelby is extremely grateful for the Ruritan Scholarship that has helped ease some of the financial burden of college, which we all know is expensive. Wright says the “Ruritan is all about acting with and taking care of one’s community… and building a family wherever you’re at.” She encourages everyone to jump in and help their community and apply for any scholarship, local or otherwise. The Liberty Ruritan wishes Shelby Wright the best in her academic and professional endeavors as she strives to make the world a better place by helping one person at a time. For those wanting to learn more about the Liberty Ruritan, the organization meets at 7PM the first Monday night of each month.

Appalachian Christmas Outreach Backpacks •
1.4 million children in the Appalachian Region live in poverty.
•
1 out of 4children go to bed hungry every night and many lack the basic necessi es of life.
This year the Bap st Women of Liberty First Bap st Church chose the Appalachian Christmas Outreach Backpacks for Children/ Youth as their mission project. (Boys ages 15-17) Each backpack is lled with essen al items that the boys do not have readily available. Items include new warm clothing (hats, gloves, socks), small canned foods, new ageappropriate non-breakable toys, necessary hygiene items, fresh wrapped candy, a copy of the Christmas Story, and, most importantly, a Bible. Today, we ask that you begin praying for the eight boys who will receive these backpacks. These backpacks could be the only Christmas gi the boys receive, and our desire is that this gi touches their lives and serves as a witness of Christ’s love.
