This young lady has a passion for animals. Raely Moore turned 9 years old on October 4th. For her birthday she told people instead of receiving gifts for herself, she wanted food and pet supplies, so that she could donate them to Happy Hills Animals Foundation. What a beautiful selfless act of compassion. Happy Birthday Raely. May God Bless You for your act of kindness.

Faye%eville St. Improvements and Concrete Block in front of
The Liberty Showcase Theater
- Experience Liberty Economic Development CommiZee
Experience Liberty Economic Development received a grant from the state to improve the downtown business facades on Fayetteville St., so hopefully you have noticed new windows at Y’all Come Back, new doors at Moore Surveyor, and new paint and hardware on the doors to Big A Auto Parts…with more to happen. As part of this improvement, some committee members noticed and investigated the concrete block in front of The Liberty Showcase Theater. Long story short, its purpose is to try and protect the marquee and theater from northbound (route 49) turning trucks who have dif wide turn. (Please note, if you are one of the unfortunate ones who traverse this dif with an 18-wheeler, all authorities are aware of this problem and it’s on the DOT’s list of things to address).
One of the committee members [Christine McPherson: Experience Liberty-Board of Directors (BOD), Liberty Arts Guild (L.A.G.)-President] came up with the idea to paint the concrete block so it would both enhance the community’s appearance as a piece of art and may create a more cautious traf environment. She thought a ‘ticket’ image would be appropriate in front of the theater and all agreed. Once an image was agreed on, someone had to develop the design, so another committee member stepped in (Pam Thorner: Experience Liberty-Secretary, L.A.G.-BOD) and after several renditions, one was settled on.
The concrete block was so dirty we needed to clean it first, which posed our first problem. We didn’t have any water readily available, so the Liberty Fire Department came to our rescue! Rinse scrub and rinse dry, and we’re ready to paint. Thank you so much for your help!
A good coat of primer from Christine and Pam(made a pretty good improvement from the original appearance.
With summer in full gear, vacations/appointments/work, we needed help. We called on more members of the L.A.G. to help paint this large hunk of concrete. Michelle Beard (L.A.G. Past Treasurer) helped measure and mask areas and Will Foxx (Junior at Providence Grove) helped with details and the ‘down low’ areas due to his younger knees and hips. We all worked when we could but mostly during the cooler evening hours as this comes into full sun late in the day.
Thank you for all that stopped and visited with us during the project, as it made the time more enjoyable. We’ve met some interesting people from out-of-state passing by and just wanted to know what was going on in our town. This is a very interesting intersection and need to appreciate the difficulties trucks have in making this turn. Please give them space. Take time to see what’s coming

A pastor asked an older farmer, decked out in bib overalls, to say grace for the morning breakfast.
"Lord, I hate buttermilk", the farmer began. The visiting pastor opened one eye to glance at the farmer and wonder where this was going.
The farmer loudly proclaimed, "Lord, I hate lard." Now the pastor was growing concerned.
Without missing a beat, the farmer continued, "And Lord, you know I don't much care for raw white flour". The pastor once again opened an eye to glance around the room and saw that he wasn't the only one to feel uncomfortable.
Then the farmer added, "But Lord, when you mix them all together and bake them, I do love warm fresh biscuits. So Lord, when things come up that we don't like, when life gets hard, when we don't understand what you're saying to us, help us to just relax and wait until you are done mixing. It will probably be even better than biscuits. Amen."

Randolph Partnership for Children Celebrates a Month of Milestones
The Randolph County Partnership for Children is an organizaUon commiZed to early childhood educaUon and family support. September was a month filled with accomplishments and generous support. As a Smart Start affiliate, the Partnership works to strengthen the community by focusing on families and young children.
The Partnership's recent "Family Jam" event was a hit. Offering free resources and acUviUes, the event allowed families to spend quality Ume both with one another and with the community at large. The atmosphere was joy-filled and radiated a palpable sense of community connecUon.
The Partnership also recently received a $10,000 donaUon from an anonymous donor. Contribu U ons like this enable the organizaUon to develop new programs and iniUaUves, such as the Susan Helsabeck Scholarship for Early Educators. The staff extends their graUtude to the anonymous benefactor for their generous support.
In addiUonal good news, the Partnership secured a $3,000 grant from The Nora Roberts FoundaUon. This grant will enhance the Books for Babies program, which provides families welcoming newborns at Randolph Health with tote bags filled with early literacy items and parent support tools. The funding will help cover the program's rising costs and allow for the inclusion of more materials in the bags.
The Randolph County Partnership for Children has ample reason to be thankful this month, as these developments reflect its ongoing posiUve impact on the community it serves.
