Kedves Kollégák! Megjelent egy hiánypótló innovatív nyelvkönyv 2010 nyarán! Jelenleg a hazai és a nemzetközi könyvpiacon nehéz olyan nyelvkönyvet találni, amely európai uniós kontextusban segítené az angol nyelv elsajátítását. E hiányt pótolva a nyelvkönyv az angol nyelv uniós közegben való használatához és alapvető EU-ismeretek angol nyelven való elsajátításához kínál segítséget B2-es szinten. A könyv következő, C1/C2-es szintű változata 2011. márciusában jelenik meg. Újszerűsége a könyvnek például, hogy a szókincs és a nyelvhelyesség fejlesztését célzó feladatok olyan nyelvészeti kutatások eredményeire épülnek, amelyek az európai uniós dokumentumok és intézmények nyelvhasználatát igyekeznek feltérképezni. A szókincsfejlesztés gyakorlására a feladatok az EU szaknyelvben leggyakrabban előforduló szókapcsolatokra koncentrálnak és egy több mint egymillió szavas EU szövegekből álló adatbázis alapján készültek. Az európai uniós nyelvhasználatot a többnyelvűség és olyan speciális szakkifejezések is jellemzik, amelyek gyakran magyarul sem ismertek. Ezért a nyelvkönyv az uniós terminológia elsajátításához és az EU többnyelvű működésének a megértéséhez is segédeszközt kínál. Ajánljuk e könyvet diákoknak, uniós témákat feldolgozó tanároknak, az EU-elnökségre készülő tisztségviselőknek, uniós intézményekben dolgozni kívánó vagy már dolgozó nyelvtanulóknak, hazai intézményekben uniós területen dolgozó munkavállalóknak, s mindenkinek, aki nyelvvizsgára készül.
