MI GRAMÁTICA

These annotations offer a flexible path for teachers on the grammar pages. It allows them to introduce grammar concepts directly from these pages or first in the lesson’s context and then use them for reinforcement. It includes step-by-step explanations, teaching strategies, language comparisons, and formative assessment ideas, equipping educators with diverse methods to effectively teach and reinforce grammatical concepts.

Reference the Communication activities in the Workbook, which allow students to practice the grammar they studied in a communicative context This approach makes the learning process more performance—and proficiency-based.

MI VOCABULARIO

For the vocabulary pages, we provide a list for each vocabulary section of the unit, including read-aloud options. This allows teachers who prefer to start with vocabulary lists to do so before moving on to the lesson activities. Throughout the lesson, these pages are referenced, offering flexibility in teaching approaches. Additionally, there are notes with strategies for learning the words and ideas for further practice.

PROYECTO FINAL

Offers a concise guide for teachers to facilitate the final project, outlining language objectives, alignment with unit goals and backward design principles, suggested duration, and required materials. It includes steps for introducing and executing the project, and guidelines for student presentations, promoting smooth implementation and effective learning outcomes. Additionally, this project helps students develop key 21st-century skills.

This annotaton provides teachers with a streamlined guide for executing miniprojects, detailing objectives, timelines, materials, and step-by-step instructions for introduction, execution, and student presentations.

Summative Assessment – Prueba

This box provides all materials needed for the “Prueba de la Lección,” including the assessment, rubric, and answer key, with a suggested duration. It ensures a structured and efficient evaluation aligned with learning objectives and proficiency standards.

PREPARO LA EVALUACIÓN IPA

The “Preparo la Evaluación IPA” section prepares students for the unit’s final IPA exam and other assessments by offering similar tasks, strategies, and references to grammar and vocabulary.

This annotation outlines all the objectives and content that students will practice across the three modes of communication.

Formative and Summative Assessment

The assessment rubric, which aligns with ACTFL performance descriptors and proficiency-based standards, measures students’ proficiency levels in the skills practiced in these activities. Additionally, we provide suggestions for formative assessments.

Summative Assessment – Evaluación IPA

These annotations provide strategies to help students successfully complete the activities.

For reinforcement or homework, this includes a reference to the culture quiz, available in both the print workbook and digitally, to review the unit’s cultural content.

This includes a reference to “My Progress,” a self-assessment tool for students to track their performance and identify opportunities for further practice.

This annotation offers detailed instructions for administering the final IPA exam, which can be found on The Spanish Hub. It includes information on all necessary resources and their specific locations.
