Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé

HIGH LIFE ®

MERCEDES-BENZ 300 SLR UHLENHAUT COUPÉ

THE MOST VALUABLE CAR IN THE WORLD

A Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé from 1955 was auctioned off to a private collector for the record price of 135 million euros. This icon of automotive history is an absolute rarity and one of only two prototypes built at the time. Named after its creator and chief engineer Rudolf Uhlenhaut, the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé is considered by automotive experts and enthusiasts worldwide to be one of the most outstanding examples of automotive design and engineering.

“The 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupés are milestones in sports car development and important historical cornerstones of our brand. The decision to sell one of these two unique sports cars was made thoughtfully in favour of a good cause. To achieve the highest price ever paid for a vehicle is both an honour and a mission: a Mercedes-Benz is by far the most valuable car in the world. The proceeds from the auction will be used to finance a worldwide scholarship programme. With the ‘Mercedes-Benz Fund’, we want to encourage a new generation to follow in the innovative footsteps of Rudolf Uhlenhaut and develop great new technologies, especially on decarbonisation and resource conservation,” says Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG. “As a global company and as a luxury brand, we bear a high degree of responsibility for society,” says Renata Jungo Brüngger, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG for Integrity and Legal Affairs, responsible for the governance of the “Mercedes-Benz Fund”. “The proceeds from the sale of the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé give us the unique opportunity to strengthen our social commitment with a long-term flagship project: With the ‘Mercedes-Benz Fundʼ, we are establishing a global scholarship programme. With this, we want to support young people in their education in the field of environmental science and encourage them in their commitment to a more sustainable future. We are convinced that access to education is the key to mastering the great challenges of our time. In doing so, we contribute to greater stability, prosperity and social cohesion.” The proceeds from the auction of the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé will serve as seed money for the global initiative. Mercedes-Benz will also invest additional funds in the coming years. The “Mercedes-Benz Fund" will address two different target groups: on the one hand, university scholarships will support students. The aim is to network and educate them and encourage them to engage in environmental science research and projects. On the other hand, school scholarships will support pupils in carrying out environmental projects. The funds are intended for people who would otherwise not have sufficient financial means to carry out these projects and pursue corresponding career paths. The support goes beyond purely financial assistance and includes, for example, mentoring with experienced MercedesBenz experts to open up new career perspectives. The “Mercedes-Benz Fund” is developed and managed together with a partner. The exact structure

of the fund, a detailed plan for the worldwide roll-out and the name of the partner organisation will be announced later this year. The sale of the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé took place on 5 th May at an auction in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in cooperation with the renowned auction house RM Sotheby’s. Invitees included selected Mercedes-Benz customers and international car and art collectors who share the Mercedes-Benz corporate values. The auctioned 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé was part of the non-public vehicle collection of Mercedes-Benz Classic. This comprises more than 1100 vehicles, from the invention of the automobile in 1886 to the present day. “We are delighted that, thanks to our historic collection, we can contribute these proceeds to our education initiative, linking the past with the technological future and decarbonisation,” says Marcus Breitschwerdt, Head of Mercedes-Benz Heritage. “The private buyer has agreed to make the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé available to the public on special occasions even after the sale. The second original 300 SLR Coupé will remain in the company’s possession and will continue to be exhibited in the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart.” The special circumstances of its creation, its unique design and its innovative technology have given the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé a remarkable mystique that still exists today. The design sets standards that make the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé one of the most significant automotive icons in the world – not least because of the characteristic gullwing doors. Added to this is the outstanding driving performance of the unique racing technology. Both together secure the 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupé its celebrated place in sports car mythology and a very special place in the hearts of Mercedes fans around the world. ■ ▹ www.mercedes-benz.com Limited edition photo of the Uhlenhaut Coupé from René Staud – an automotive work of art 99 prints, format 45 x 70 cm, framed with passepartout in wooden frame, black lacquered, format 80 x 60 cm 899 euros (VAT included) To order: www.renestaud.com, rs@renestaud.com

MERCEDES-AMG ONE

PERFORMANCE LIKE FROM ANOTHER STAR

Built to become a legend: The Mercedes-AMG ONE. The most extraordinary and modern road-legal racing car. Inspired by Formula 1, packed with superlatives, made for the road.

Incredible performance, brought to the road without detours. The MercedesAMG ONE is sporty driving in its purest form. With acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h in 7.0 seconds or 0 to 300 km/h in 15.6 seconds, the hypercar sets the pace: the maximum speed of electronically governed 352 km/h. Breathtaking values, which are made even more intense by driving programmes from Formula 1 for the race track. In the Strat 2 programme, the active aerodynamics, the tighter chassis tuning, the vehicle lowering and the full power from all engines act as in qualifying in Formula 1. This has never been done before. But it will be done the same way in the future. The dream of bringing technology from Formula 1 directly to the road has come true. The e-performance plug-in hybrid with 1.6-litre V6 turbo petrol engine and the four electric motors for the turbocharger, crankshaft and front axles, which originate from the premier class, together provide an impressive 1063 hp system output. Combined with the powerful and directcooled 800-volt battery developed exclusively by Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1’s engine forge High Performance Powertrains, the starting point for exceptionally agile, high-precision and intense driving at the limit has been created. On the race track. And on the road. Unbridled power turns into outstanding driving characteristics – thanks to the high-strength and lightweight carbon monocoque from Formula 1, into which the powerful engine and the exceptional transmission have been directly integrated and which creates a precisely fitting basis for the chassis. The newly developed 7-speed automated manual transmission with 4-disc carbon racing clutch is perfectly matched to the powerful Formula 1 hybrid and can perfectly translate the maximum 11000 rpm of the combustion engine to always deliver maximum performance. In addition, the sporty and innovative multi-link aluminium suspension with transverse push-rod struts underlines the uncompromising nature of the ONE: the arrangement of the unit makes a tubular anti-roll bar obsolete and effectively reduces roll – even during very fast changes of direction. A unique composition of technology that makes everything possible that the racetrack and road offer. An experience reminiscent of the home straight at Silverstone or the hairpin at the Grand Hotel in Monte Carlo: the unique sound of the MercedesAMG ONE provides a genuine racing feeling. Because no matter where the hypercar shows its performance, you can already hear that real Formula 1 technology is approaching. Goose bumps guaranteed. For drivers, pedestrians and fans. Driving at over 300 km/h, extreme acceleration out of bends – and always perfect road holding: only those who understand the limits of physics can master them. The best proof is the spectacular aerodynamics of the ONE, which provide a unique balance of maximum downforce and actively optimised aerodynamics for more downforce. To achieve this, movable fins in the front wheel arches, a two-part retractable rear wing and active flaps on the front diffuser have been developed, which adapt to the optimum racing conditions depending on the driving programme and the driver’s wishes.

The iconic longitudinal fin, the aerodynamically optimised 10-spoke forged aluminium wheel and the NACA openings for cooling ducts are also true boosters on the way to the best possible performance at high speeds. The ONE’s Formula 1 heritage is evident not only in its performance, but also in its lines. The air intake on the roof, which elegantly merges into the vertical shark fin, the exhaust tailpipe with a large round outlet and two further, smaller round openings and the unique paintwork come directly from the premier class. But not as an end in itself – every nuance of the ONE’s muscular appearance contributes to the overriding idea: to optimise the overall performance of the vehicle. For maximum driving pleasure with maximum performance. Performance also sets the tone for the interior: There is everything the driver and passenger need to enjoy the fascinating ONE to the full – and nothing to distract them. The AMG motorsport bucket seats integrated into the carbon monocoque provide optimum support, the Formula 1-style steering wheel with rotary controls for driving programmes ensures perfect handling and the displays provide the right overview – so that every corner can be taken perfectly. ■ ▹ www.mercedes-amg.com

RIMAC NEVERA

FORMULA 1 WORLD CHAMPION NICO ROSBERG FIRST OWNER OF THE HYPERCAR

Just one month after the first production-ready Rimac Nevera left the factory in Zagreb, Croatia, the supercar was delivered to its owner – 2016 Formula One World Champion and sustainability entrepreneur Nico Rosberg. Before the car, which is limited to 150 units, was delivered to him in Monaco, Rosberg visited Rimac’s headquarter in Croatia to find out first-hand about the latest developments within the Rimac Group.

Production of the world’s first all-electric hypercar GT has started at the new Rimac factory on the outskirts of Zagreb. The first year of production is already sold out. Almost every major component of the car is designed, engineered and built at Rimac weeks or months before each car is ready, and installed in the final stage of production – vehicle assembly, which takes about five weeks per car. Car no. 000, which is to remain at Rimac, has been painted in a bright Callisto green, combined with a sand-coloured Alcantara interior, showing the wide range of customisation options available to customers. For car no. 001, Rosberg deliberately opted for a much more aggressive interior, which he described as a “full Batmobile specification” when developing his car. With Stellar Black paintwork, polished Vertex wheels and gloss black brake calipers, this is perhaps the most striking look possible on the Nevera. The interior is all black Alcantara, with a subtle “Nico Rosberg” signature on the armrest plate identifying the car as 001/150. The first customer-owned example of the Nevera will be based in the Principality of Monaco, Rosberg’s home, making it the first all-electric hypercar in this sovereign state. Nico Rosberg has followed Rimac's development since he first saw the concept of the C_Two – which later became the Nevera – in person a few years ago. He believed in Mate Rimac's vision for the Nevera as a truly engaging and comfortable next-generation hypercar, capable of crossing continents and lapping race tracks – all powered by electricity. He became one of the very first customers. Rosberg said, “From the first time I met Mate and really understood the genius behind Nevera, I knew I wanted the number one car. For me, this car represents absolutely everything I could ever want. It showcases the best in innovative electrification technology, it’s a car that has literally been designed from the ground up to be not only incredibly fast – or the

fastest – but also really great to drive. I can’t wait to see what it can do.” After his 11-year career in Formula 1, where he became World Champion in 2016, Nico Rosberg started as a sustainability entrepreneur and investor in green technologies. He has invested in more than 20 mobility start-ups as well as Formula E, while his all-electric Extreme E racing team – Rosberg X Racing – won the 2021 championship and continues to lead this season. In 2019, he founded the Greentech Festival, a global platform for sustainable innovation and lifestyle. From 2021, the event will take place in New York, London, Singapore as well as the city where it was launched – Berlin. Mate Rimac, CEO of Rimac Group, said: “When we started developing the Nevera, we wanted to build a car that would impress even the best drivers in the world. Nico was on that list and it’s great to know that someone who has mastered the most focused and modern motorsport in the world is so excited by the car we have developed. We all look forward to following Nico’s drives with the Nevera; all of his cars are used and enjoyed, which is exactly what we encourage our owners to do. And if anyone can test the limits of what we’ve built, it’s him. We’re proud to call Nico a friend and the first member of the fast-growing Rimac Nevera family of owners.” With the delivery of the first customer vehicle, the first uniquely specified Neveras will now be seen on the roads of countries around the world. Only 150 examples will ever be built, sold and serviced by Rimac Automobili’s global network of 25 dealers spanning North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Even before its first delivery to a customer, the Nevera has won global acclaim for its world-leading technologies and unrivalled performance. With 1914 hp, the Nevera accelerates from 0 to 100 mph in 1.85 seconds, to 100 mph in 4.3 seconds and completes the quarter mile in a world record 8.582 seconds. This year alone, the Nevera was named Hypercar of the Year, Best Electric Performance Car and Best Hypercar. ■

OPPIDUM

LUXURY BUNKER WITH PRIVATE ART GALLERY, INNER GARDEN AND SPA

This new concept for customised luxury bunkers in clients’ existing buildings has been optimised for a luxurious lifestyle while being prepared for all the threats of the outside world.

Protecting what matters. “Our vision at OPPIDUM is to build the most beautiful and secure contemporary fortified residences in the world. They are places of tranquillity and absolute safety for owners and their families. We are privileged to provide the highest level of service to our clients and create beautiful places that will protect them and their heritage for generations to come,” says Jakub Zamrazil, founder and CEO of OPPIDUM. OPPIDUM brings a paradigm shift in personal protection at the highest level. Unlike a purely functional bunker designed exclusively for rare and unlikely scenarios, an Oppidum enhances the value of the owner’s primary residence by providing amenities such as a private art gallery, secure conference lounge, comfortable bedroom suites, spa and other recreational facilities for daily use in peacetime. This is a unique, contemporary and luxurious solution to an age-old desire: to protect ourselves, our loved ones and our most precious possessions in uncertain, unpredictable times. Like an ancient castle, an oppidum is a residence designed and built for defence. As an underground bunker, it is even more secure, protected by significant structural reinforcements and tightly controlled access. An oppidum seamlessly integrates the highest environmental and military protection systems into a luxurious addition to an existing family estate. The Oppidum Architects team includes Marc Prigent, founder of a renowned practice near Paris, France. Marc Prigent designed Oppidum’s flagship project, L’Héritage, working with the world’s most experienced specialists and technical partners in the construction of safe underground living spaces. L'Héritage is the most extensive and luxurious Oppidum and is suitable for installation under larger properties. It offers a total of 1000 square metres of generously laid out public and private areas, an interior garden, a gallery and technical rooms. Key features include: Access to the spacious underground garage, the so-called Parc Fermé, which is guarded by an internal security gate, is via a hydraulically operated ramp that is almost invisibly embedded in the floor. Stairs also lead down from the optional helipad. The Parc Fermé itself is fully secured and built to museum standards.

The main entrance to the oppidum is an airlock, fully equipped as a decontamination chamber. It is closed by two sets of custom-built oppidum blast doors. The outer door is controlled by a multi-biometric reader that simultaneously scans the face, iris, palm and fingerprints. The inner blast door leads into a magnificent entrance hall lined with finely grained solid wood floors. Despite the fact that it is underground, the ceiling rises almost five metres and is adorned with opulent handmade glass chandeliers. All the furniture is custom-made. The heart of this hidden retreat is the lounge, a relaxing yet inspiring space to meet with friends and business partners or spend time with loved ones. It is separated from the rest of the Oppidum by security doors, so you can decide who has access to the bedrooms and other private living areas. An adjacent secure meeting room provides a dedicated space for more confidential discussions. The inner garden is also a highlight, bringing natural light, space and beauty to the luxury bunker. In this magical-looking space, the flowers and plants are cared for by a sophisticated automatic watering system. Simulating the full spectrum of light, the sun rises and sets and the seasons change in the skylight above the garden. The retreat also features a swimming pool that can be filled with salt or fresh water, as well as a full range of state-of-the-art fitness equipment to keep the body and mind in top shape. The hidden technology that sustains life underground is housed in a series of engineering rooms. The main systems operate autonomously, with backup circuits that respond instantly when needed. An oppidum has two independent air filtration units. The primary unit is designed for normal peacetime use. The secondary unit is a military grade chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) system. An oppidum is completely air and gas tight and can be completely isolated from the outside atmosphere if required. A unique high-pressure air reserve and internal circuit allow occupants to breathe normally and safely. The air filtration system is equipped with a CO2 removal system that, in combination with a supplemental oxygen supply, provides breathable air when no or insufficient fresh air enters the building. The water supply is provided by a private deep well that is completely independent of the public supply. In the event of a power outage, blackout or grid instability, the power system seamlessly switches to one of the many fail-safe alternative power sources, including two diesel generators and backup batteries. The structure typically consists of an open excavation with a temporary support structure at the edge. The primary excavation can reach up to 15 metres below the ground surface, with up to 45000 cubic metres (60000 to 70000 tonnes) of soil to be moved. The main structure consists of a reinforced concrete shell designed to withstand both static and dynamic loads such as pressure and shock waves and natural seismic activity. For the construction of L’Héritage, high-strength concrete with magnetite-based aggregates is used – the same composition used in the construction of nuclear power plants. ■ ▹ www.oppidum.ch

ONE&ONLY MANDARINA DREAM BEACHES AND CULINARY DELIGHTS FROM CELEBRITY CHEF ENRIQUE OLVERA

White dream beaches surrounded by a shimmering turquoise Pacific, tropical jungle, mysterious colonial cities and varied landscapes – Mexico, a dream destination for people who want to enjoy beach holidays, cultural experiences, but also activities and a sense of adventure. In the Mexican state of Pacific Nayarit, a luxury resort opened its doors in November 2020 that fulfils all these longings – far away from mass tourism and with a lot of privacy: the One&Only Mandarina.

Christoph Berner has already travelled to many countries, got to know over 800 luxury hotels worldwide, but the new One&Only Mandarina is something very special for the owner of BERNER TRAVEL. “It is a unique location. The location on lush cliffs in untouched nature is paradisiacal. Absolute highlights are the two kilometre-long, wide white sandy beaches, which you can only find in a few destinations in the world. Fantastic! I will never forget the sunset at The Jetty Beach Club. The area is very spacious, the villas and designer tree houses convey a feeling of freedom. And it never gets boring. You can go on numerous excursions, there is, among other things, an inhouse riding stable and a SPA that really puts a lot of well-known things in the shade with its offer,” enthuses Christoph Berner. That sounds good from such a professional mouth – reason enough to take a closer look at this top address. Even the reception makes the heart beat faster in joyful anticipation. A large hanging bronze gong announces the arrival of the guests. Immediately upon entering the lobby in open-air living room style, a majestic, old Higuera tree, a black pool as well as the breathtaking view of the Pacific Ocean captivate every traveller. Woven sofas and chairs made of Mexican tropical woods as well as a work of art with gold leaf ornaments round off the successful arrival experience. From the very beginning, sustainability and environmental protection were important to the builders. A requirement that the renowned Tuscon (USA) based firm Rick Joy Architects implemented perfectly under the philosophy of “green luxury”. The building was constructed exclusively with natural materials such as local stones and tropical woods. Experienced botanists assisted in the design to minimise negative impacts on the natural landscape. Mangrove forests and estuaries were preserved in their original form. Depending on what you have booked, you move into one of the designer tree houses or a luxurious villa with sea view. The tree houses made of Cumaru wood float twelve metres above the volcanic rocks between the rainforest and the coast. Here you are immediately reminded of Walt Disney’s Jungle Book, tempted to swing from vine to vine like little Mogli – pure adventure feeling. The Cliff Villas have concrete floors on the volcanic area of the site, high ceilings flooded with light above the heavy stone walls and also fixtures made of Cumaru wood. Every accommodation has its own plunge pool, terrace, spacious bathrooms. Handmade textiles by local craftsmen and contemporary brass and copper decorations by the Mexican designer Detaller underline the modern interior and set stylish accents. Floor-to-ceiling windows bring nature inside. One&Only is known for its “signature villas”, which offer maximum space and privacy at each resort. The One&Only Man-

darina, for example, has the Villa One. This “hideaway within a hideaway” extends over 1747 square metres and includes three bedrooms, an infinity pool, private SPA, gym, cinema, wine cellar and a spacious outdoor terrace. Speaking of the SPA, a canopy of Higuera trees surrounded by volcanic rock houses an indulgent adobe-style SPA. The centrepiece is the beauty lounge with mud grotto, hydrotherapy circuit plunge pool, sauna and a traditional temazcal (steam bath) for indigenous curanderismo ceremonies (traditional shaman ritual). All treatments combine natural cosmetics with modern science and Mexican traditions. Steffy Téllez Schnaas, the spiritual director, accompanies the guests on their way to personal well-being. The culinary delights at One&Only Mandarina offer a completely different kind of well-being. Gourmets are pampered with excellent food in three restaurants. Gastronomy with an artistic flair is how the “Carao” restaurant can be described. The kitchen is overseen by an artist of the hearth, an acrobat of flavours and a great of his guild: star chef Enrique Olvera. His temple of pleasure “Pujol” in Mexico City is currently ranked 9th on the list of “The World's 50 Best Restaurants 2021” and has cult status, just like his restaurant “Cosme” in New York. The 46-year-old Mexican takes people on a culinary journey of the senses. Olvera’s vision was to expand the authentic Mexican atmosphere with a menu that reflects a wide range of influences – from Oaxaca to the modern Mediterranean. Designed as the heart of the resort, the Alma restaurant captures both the morning sun over the rainforest and the sunset at the horizon. Here you can enjoy a palette of inspired fusion flavours under the open sky while listening to relaxed Latin music. When the lapping of ocean waves accompanies the lively atmosphere of a place, you have certainly taken a seat at The Jetty Beach Club right on the white dream beach. Swimming, diving, watching humpback whales, hiking, getting to know this unique country and its people on excursions – it is all possible. Another highlight is the Mandarina Polo & Equestrian Club, which organises rides into the jungle and to the sea, riding lessons and weekly polo tournaments. Young guests are welcome. Adventures await them, where they can experience the wonders of nature up close – from wildlife bingo to exploring the butterfly farm. Of course, those who wish can simply unwind and take a break from the daily grind. The One&Only Mandarina – the perfect symbiosis of tropical beach life, indulgence, relaxation and adventure amidst lush green wilderness. ■

SPIRIT OF SON FUSTER

LUXURIOUS PRIVATE HIDEAWAY FOR INDIVIDUALISTS

Mats Wahlström is Swedish and also entrepreneur, hotelier and cosmopolitan. He loves adventure travel and likes to call himself a nomad. Almost 20 years ago, he opened the first Puro Lifestyle Hotel in Palma. The adjoining Opio Bar & Restaurant is not only an institution in Mallorca, the trendy meeting place enjoys cult status throughout Europe. The rise of his Puro Group to an internationally renowned lifestyle brand was marked by the opening of the Purobeach Club in 2005. After leaving the Puro Group, the innovative Swede devoted himself to new projects in recent years and is now once again demonstrating his flair for the extraordinary. In March 2022, he opened the “Spirit of Son Fuster”. It is probably the most extraordinary holiday home in Mallorca at the moment. In a spectacular location with a view of the twin mountains of Alaró, Mats Wahlström has turned a manor house built in 1350 and a former farm into a luxury residence that is second to none. The charming village of Alaró is located in the northwest of Mallorca at the foot of the Tramuntana mountains. Fig, carob, almond and olive tree plantations characterise the dreamlike mountain scenery here. The owner could hardly have found a more beautiful spot. After three years of renovation work, the unique hideaway was opened as a private hotel. It is reserved for the sole use of families, friends or management teams and guarantees absolute privacy. Those who take time out here together know each other, are familiar with each other. You could call it a luxury holiday home with hotel service, but Spirit of Son Fuster is much more. It is a completely redefined, sustainable luxury finca experience, a retreat for people who feel connected to nature, art and cuisine, who appreciate the unique. “After years of exploring beaches and cities, I was drawn to the countryside. Spirit of Son Fuster is a private hideaway, here

I invite family and friends. There is enough space for everyone to relax as well as for shared experiences. I wanted to share all this with others. Of course, it was a challenge to bring the finca up to date. We paid attention to a high degree of sustainability. That was exciting. We generate our electricity in our own solar park,” Mats Wahlström says. Fruit, vegetables and black truffles grow in the garden of the 40-hectare property. Ten exclusively furnished, light-flooded bedrooms (20 to 36 square metres) are available to guests. Luxurious Hypnos Cashmere Edition double beds (1.80 by 2 metres), which are among the best beds in the world, ensure a healthy sleep. As a well-travelled globetrotter, Mats Wahlström became increasingly sensitive to the quality of home textiles and founded his own label “Spirit of the Nomad” six years ago: “I had encountered mediocrity enough times with regard to hotel textiles and set out in search of something better. After an odyssey from one cotton plantation to the next, I finally found what I was looking for: sustainable durability combined with a maximum of comfort at an adequate price. Bed linen and towels made from 100 per cent extra-long-fibre combed Egyptian cotton certified by Cotton Egypt Association.” Of course, “Spirit of the Nomad" bed linen and towels are provided. Each room has a Bluetooth Geneva music system, underfloor heating under natural wood floors and air conditioning. In the en-suite bathrooms made of natural limestone, bath products from Grown Alchemist, Ortiago and Marvis, among others, are a delight. On his journeys around the world, the owner not only collected experiences and impressions, but also works of art, paintings and sculptures. And so the interior in the Spirit of Son Fuster combines historical Spain with North Africa, the American West with modern zeitgeist to create a perfect casual mix. Furniture and fabrics are largely 100 percent natural – made of wood, linen, wool or camel hair. In the indoor and outdoor areas, music lover Wahlström had a state-of-the-art sound system by Bose & Sonance installed. Special features of the property include a cinema, billiard table, badminton, boules, volleyball, a well-equipped gym, SPA with saunas and a heated six-by-ten-metre pool in the Mediterranean garden. By the way, it is cleaned with UV salt filters and not with chlorine. SPA manager Bettina Papenkort and her team pamper the guests with soothing massages, beauty treatments and offer Cellgym® for cell regeneration through altitude training. In addition, there is yoga, personal trainers and hiking guides. Horseback riding on the grounds with a guide or a western trainer is also possible. For those who stay at the Spirit of Son Fuster not only to enjoy, but also to work, there are carefully equipped meeting rooms (for up to 20 participants). The culinary theme also leaves nothing to be desired. The full-board food concept is rich, healthy and organic with products from the hotelʼs own garden as well as from local producers. The daily indulgence includes exquisite wines, champagne, spirits and a selection of fine soft drinks. Of course, you can also order the hotelʼs helicopter service in between and fly to Ibiza for lunch. ■
