Color is king Power Palette

Jewel tones don’t exactly go out of style—no woman ever turned down an emerald or ruby, after all. But the rich hues are especially big this fall (yes, for guys too). Men’s and women’s jewelry designer Catherine M. Zadeh explains the appeal of a color palette fit for a king.

Old-school rules dictate that you hold the door for her. But an evolved man enters a revolving door first. Remember: We do the pushing.

Dress like royalty

Rich colors rule the runways for fall—and in fact, jewel tones have been popular for centuries. Just ask any royal family member. “Sapphires, emeralds, and amethysts have always been associated with royalty, from the kings of England to the shahs of Iran,” says Zadeh. But you don’t need to spend a fortune to channel that power. “Wearing these colors—whether in ruby cuff links or bold blue pants— says you’re confident and cultured.”
