Welcome to the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre (KMFRC). We’re happy you’re here and we look forward to supporting you and your family. Many of us have a Military background, are Military spouses, or grew up in a Military family, so we can relate to you personally. Our mission is to support and enable you as you settle into the community. If there’s anything we can do to assist you, please let us know. The binder you’re holding is a tool kit that outlines the many services available to you from the KMFRC and throughout the City of Kingston. Our hope is, you keep this in a handy spot and personalize it as you discover new services. Again, welcome to Kingston and welcome to the KMFRC. Sincerely,
Iain Harper KMFRC Executive Director
Message from CFB Kingston Base Commander, Colonel S.M. Cadden, CD The Canadian Forces enjoy a robust presence across Canada, with bases, support units and detachments in every Province and Territory. As a result, Canadian Forces families have an unparalleled opportunity to experience Canada and all that our culture has to offer. Whether this is your first military posting or your tenth, I am confident that you will find Kingston to be one of the best overall professional, personal and family experiences available. CFB Kingston is uniquely located in one of Canada’s most picturesque cities, and its facilities are amongst the best in DND. A home for military doctrine, training, education and numerous high readiness operational units, CFB Kingston enables many facets of the operational output of our military forces. Given the many faces of the city of Kingston, your time here will also be enhanced by a vibrant municipality which embraces fitness, education and public service, and has a dynamic musical, cultural and artistic community. We are closely integrated with our civic partners, and enjoy full integration into the community. CFB Kingston has much to offer, and it is my sincere hope that your time here will provide you an enjoyable life experience.
Message from the Mayor Mark Gerretsen Kingston is a community whose history is filled with a strong and prominent military presence. The Canadian men and women, who give so much of themselves to serve our country, continue to earn and deserve our respect and gratitude. Canadians are proud and humbled by the tremendous sacrifices our brave men and women provide, at home and around the world. We thank them for their selfless service to Canada, and the on-going pursuit of peace. While our military servicemen and women serve in their various capacities overseas, their loved ones share these experiences in a much different fashion. Our thoughts are with the family members, here in Kingston, who long for a safe return of their loved ones, to Canada. Kingston is a community that welcomes its military families and values their contribution to our city’s life. Thank you for being such a positive element of what continues to make Kingston a wonderful place to live, year-round. Canada’s First Capital is a better place due to its military families.
