Sponsored by the National Foundation for Art in Public Buildings, Norway. The designated location for this open competition lies along the Bygdøy peninsular in Oslo. I sited my proposal just offshore within view of the coastline. Though achieved through engineering, the resulting seascape/landscape is meant to provoke contemplation and embrace mourning. The resulting phenomenon serves as a mystical vision through which visitors reflect upon the fearsome and humbling powers of the sea.
