Clarence Valley Gems Brooms Head

Before this the area was known as Cakora Point. The name has evolved and most locals just refer to it as ‘The Broom’.

Located inside Yuraygir National Park, Brooms Head is truly timeless. It gives visitors a chance to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of every day. The Brooms beaches are pristine and the locals very friendly. A vacation without good food is not a vacation. The Broom boasts several great eateries where you can fill up, the local bowls club has a fine restaurant if you want to dine out, alternatively you could grab a bite at the local general store or munch on some fish and chips at the fast food shop by the beach. The lookout provides a picturesque view and is also a great vantage point for dolphin and whale watching. Fishing enthusiasts are in luck too as The Broom boasts several great fishing spots which locals will gladly point you to. You could also take a canoe out to Lake Cakora and enjoy the bird wildlife living on the mud-flats. If deep sea fishing is your thing, take a boat out into the sea from the southern end of the main beach. With lots of fun activities to do, Brooms Head has become a favourite holiday destination for many. If you haven’t been, it’s definitely worth checking out.
