In 2013 VBRA Knox Branch member Julia Baker created and organised the very first Pink Round to raise money for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and breast cancer research. Since then the idea has grown and now together with Knox Basketball we have managed to raise over $23,000 - $7,500 of this was last year. This year we hope to aim even higher. Please give generously to this worthy cause. Every cent donated goes to the goal of Zero deaths from Breast Cancer in 2030. Please share the link below with your friends and family.

LET’S DONATE NOW END THIS bit.ly/PinkRound2019 TOGETHER

Sherbrooke and Knox open up round five. The Suns are on a three-game skid and were blown out of the water last week by Dandenong on their own floor 54-114. Knox are on a two-game win streak, ousting the Vikings last weekend. Bulleen and Melbourne do battle at East Doncaster. The Tigers are 4-1 on the season to sit second in the Terrill conference, while the Boomers are in the middle ground, having dropped their last two. The Boomers came up agonisingly short to Keilor last week 96-98. McKinnon and Hawthorn meet at GESAC. Both sides have gotten off to slow starts in 2019, occupying bottom three positions in the Watson conference. The Magic have dropped four in a row while the Cougars are on their own two-game skid. Ringwood and Southern clash in what looks to be a one-sided affair. The Hawks have split their games this season but have been competitive in all of them to sit fourth. Meanwhile, the Sabres are still searching for their first win, anchored at the bottom of the Watson standings at 0-6. Knox and Keilor round out Saturday’s fixture at State Basketball Centre. Keilor will have the fresh legs and will look to make it five wins on the trot in an exciting top four Terrill clash. Keilor get straight back up in a home clash against Dandenong to open the Sunday card in a blockbuster top four battle. The Rangers are undefeated and will be oozing with confidence after their emphatic 60-point win over Sherbrooke last week. Kilsyth host Eltham in a massive first vs second clash in the Watson conference. Both sides are on nice winning streaks too, while the Wildcats are yet to drop a game. The Cobras will be confident after going 2-0 last week. Diamond Valley host Ringwood in an inter-conference clash. The Eagles come in for their first game of the round but have been inconsistent this season, interchanging wins and losses over the opening five rounds. Could that mean a win is coming? Melbourne and Blackburn meet with the latter coming in fresh. It could present the perfect opportunity for the Vikings to pinch their first game of the season, sitting dead last in the Terrill standings. Southern host Sherbrooke with both sides coming off Saturday games. With just two wins between them in 2019, a win either way could help catapult the winners’ season. Waverley are at home to Nunawading to close out round five. Both teams will be fresh and rearing to go, with the Falcons sitting third in the Watson standings at 2-3. However, the Spectres aren’t far behind them at 3-3 and will be just as hungry to taste victory.
