Big V VYC Round 12

Page 1

Southern and Altona kick off the round, with the Sabres sitting third, one place ahead of the Gators in the Terrill conference. The Sabres have won five of their seven home games this season, while the Gators have won three of their six away games. Diamond Valley have won their last two games to sit fifth in the Terrill conference. They will expect to continue their stellar form against Ballarat this weekend who enter the game off the back of 10 defeats in a row. Nunawading meet Dandenong in a top four clash in the Watson conference. The Spectres will be shooting for their third-straight win and looking to consolidate top spot, while the Rangers are going for their fifth win in their last six. Knox and Hume City clash with both sides looking to make a run at the top four. The Raiders will be hoping to bounce back from a three-game losing streak, while a win would see the Broncos even their season record at 8-8. Ringwood and Kilsyth do battle at The Rings in a blockbuster top three clash in the Watson conference, as both sides will be looking to prove their championship credentials. The Hawks snapped their two-game losing streak against Knox last round, while the Cobras fell to Dandenong. Bendigo and Melbourne continue the Saturday action at Bendigo Stadium in a monster top two clash in the Terrill league. The Braves take the better form into this one, riding a two-game win streak, whereas the Tigers have dropped their last two. Bulleen and Waverley cap off the Saturday action with the Boomers looking to add to their one win for the season at home. The Falcons are on the bottom of the Watson table but have won their last four on the trot. Altona and Nunawading open up the Sunday card. The Gators are 5-3 at home this season, but meet arguably the top team in the league in the Spectres, who could be shooting for their fourth straight win. Melbourne and Bulleen butt heads in what looks to be a one-sided affair on paper. Interestingly, the Tigers have actually performed worse at home this season (3-4) despite sitting second. Dandenong and Sunbury clash with the latter taking the fresh legs into the contest. Sunbury will be hoping to pinch one on the road here and add to their three-game winning streak. Kilsyth and Hawthorn meet at the Kilsyth Sports Centre as the Magic will be looking to snap their four-game losing streak. The Cobras could be tired from their game against Ringwood on Saturday. Ballarat and Bendigo cap off the Round 12 action at the Mars Minerdome. The Braves will be coming off a massive contest against the Tigers, but should not have any trouble with a Rush outfit that have lost their last 10.
