KNOX BASKETBALL GAMES COMMISSIONER: MICHAEL CAMERON

NEXT GAME

Blackburn and Bulleen kick things off for round eight at Mullum Mullum Stadium. Both sides have had disappointing seasons so far, with the Boomers losing four of their last five matches and the Vikings searching for just their second win of the season. Hawthorn host the Tigers in the inter-conference matchup which could be Melbourne’s fourth consecutive loss. The Magic have had a lacklustre start to the season and sit at 3-6, but would be hoping to capitalise on Melbourne’s poor recent run of form. The undefeated Rangers would fancy their chances when they take on the Thunder on Saturday night. Dandenong have won nine games on the trot, while the third-placed Keilor will need the assist-leading Cameron Hutton to deliver if they are to produce an upset. Waverley and the Sabres face off in the final Saturday fixture of the round. The Falcons have been inconsistent but would be confident after last week’s win over Sherbrooke, as they fight for a spot amongst the top four. Melbourne meet Sherbrooke on Sunday with both teams in the middle of a form crisis. The Suns, who won their first two games of the season, now sit in seventh place after losing their last nine games in a disastrous campaign for them so far. Knox will be looking to redeem themselves when they take on Diamond Valley on Sunday. The Eagles will hope to pick up where they left off though, having defeated the Sabres by 17 points last weekend. The Cobras host the Falcons this round, and will be hoping to produce more of the same form that has been delivered so far this season. Kilsyth sit atop the Watson conference with seven straight wins, including last weekend’s demolition of Blackburn. Ringwood have won their last four matches, and will be optimistic of extending that streak on Sunday when they take on the Vikings. The Hawks’ Yuot Gai leads the competition in offensive rebounds for the season. Nunawading and the Cougars will have a lot at stake when they clash in the round eight closer. The Spectres have been in relatively good form but will want to bounce back after last week’s loss. The Cougars are at the tail-end of the table but are only one win behind the Spectres, as they hope to continue their resurgence on Sunday.
