The Cocktail Corner Beer School By Staff Writer Jaime Knutson The Icelandic way

By Staff Writer Lionel Schnell BEER CRACKER CHICKEN POT PIE

Ingredients: 3 cl Vodka 6 cl Lemon soda (Fanta Lemon) Fill with Beer And Coca-Cola, 50/50

Shell:

Mixing instructions: Mix a normal glass of vodka and fanta lemon, drink down to half and fill up with beer and coke.

Crust:

2 cups finely crushed Club or Town House crackers 4 tablespoons melted butter

2 cups flour 3/4 cup Crisco 1 teaspoon salt 1/4 cup boiling water 1 teaspoon parsley flakes

Jokes and More! Filling:

True Stories of Some of the Dumbest Crooks on Earth: (Location Unknown): A man walked into a Circle-K (a convenience store similar to a 7-11), put a $20 bill on the counter and asked for change. When the clerk opened the cash drawer, the man pulled a gun and asked for all the cash in the register, which the clerk promptly provided. The man took the cash from the clerk and fled-leaving the $20 bill on the counter. The total amount of cash he got from the drawer? Fifteen dollars.

1-2 lbs chicken sliced 1" cubes 1 bag frozen mixed vegetables 2 tablespoons olive oil 1 bottle beer or 12 oz white wine 1 teaspoon poultry seasoning 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder 1 teaspoon basil 1 teaspoon Lipton Onion Soup mix 1 can condensed Cream of Potato soup 2/3 cup milk 1 tsp salt (optional) Crust: In a 4x9 dish, pour the melted butter into the casserole dish, sprinkle the cracker crumbs over the butter and mix well to saturate the crackers. Press down cracker mix to cover the bottom evenly. Place covered into fridge while preparing the chicken. Chicken: Add the olive oil to a frying pan with the poultry seasoning, garlic powder, basil, onion soup mix and stir until well saturated with oil. Add chicken and brown lightly. Add the beer, cream of potato soup and milk when chicken looks "golden brown". Add the frozen vegetables and turn down the heat to reduce the liquids for approximately 20 min. Remove from heat when liquids appear thickened. Allow to cool to warm to the touch. Crust: Add dry ingredients to hot water and milk. Cut Crisco into flour and milk mixture with knife or fork. Form into ball (minimize touching with hands). Divide ball in half. Roll out dough between sheets of wax paper or plastic wrap to 1/8" thin. Baking: Remove the casserole dish from the fridge and add the chicken filling. Peel the plastic wrap off of one side of the crust, fold dough over the dish and remove the other sheet of plastic wrap. Pinch sides of dough into the inside edge of the dish with fingers. Use a knife to poke several vent holes in crust. Bake at 425째F for 20-25 minutes until crust in golden brown over a cookie sheet.

Beer CraZy by Contributing Writer, Nick Gaudio Today I'm drinking DayTime, "A Fractional IPA" brewed by Lagunitas Brewing Company in Petaluma, California. Underneath "A Fractional IPA" there is the micro comment, "Is that ridiculous or what..?!" Around the label, as usual, a little ditty. "Have ya been jonesing for something more primal and less evolved? If so, Fire is the element for you. Air, Water, and Earth are of no use. There is a freedom in burning down the house of fixed realities and it confers an undeniable lightness to being." Not sure what the hell they are talking about... perhaps you guys can explain it all to me. Anyway, the aroma is malty bread and fruity citrus, with even a little tropical action. The flavors are even nicer. Fruity and extremely juicy and fresh. Like they just picked this off the beer tree. Those fruity flavors are met by an excellent and quite refreshing hoppy bitterness. Lemon, orange, a little grass. Balanced, leaning bitter. Low to medium body but not watery. The 4.65% alcohol is not noticeable, which I think is the point. I think that might be what the "Fractional" may refer to. You know, like a fraction of the alcohol? Finish is dry. Pleasant aftertaste. Check it out for sure. You will not be disappointed.

FERRARI 250 GT LUSSO…FOR LUXURY Author: George Chopek Staff Writer See More at ExoticCarResource.com

Cayenne Turbo S With 550 Horsepower

The interior is very well appointed. Two well designed leather seats will wrap you in comfort as you wind your way down the road. The dash features a center mounted speedometer and tach with the remaining four gauges directly in front of the driver. From left to right they display gas, water, oil temp and oil pressure. Of course you get to hang on to that huge 3 spoke wooden wrapped steering wheel with the prancing horse in the middle.

The new Cayenne Turbo S assumes top position in the Porsche SUV model range with its engine power of 550 hp (405 kW). With its complex active chassis, the top athlete in SUV clothing surpasses the driving performance of many sports cars. All of the basic Cayenne properties such as versatile offroad capabilities, high ride comfort and superior towing power have been preserved without exception. Its NEDC fuel consumption of 11.5 litres per 100 km is the same as that of the Cayenne Turbo, which makes it more fuel-efficient in relation to its engine power. The new Turbo S model has an extra 50 hp of power compared to the Cayenne Turbo. The sprint from zero to 62mph takes just 4.5 seconds (-0.2 seconds), and the SUV accelerates to a top speed of 175 mph. The Cayenne Turbo S was systematically configured for maximum dynamic performance. Therefore, it incorporates all relevant control systems as standard equipment. From the Cayenne Turbo it takes the combination of an air suspension and active PASM damping control. Then there is Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), which reduces the roll angle in curves to practically zero, improving agility and comfort equally. Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus), which is also standard, operates with torque vectoring at the rear wheels together with an electronically controlled rear differential lock, which improves traction and therefore offers more agility in every driving situation. The new Cayenne Turbo S is also equipped with the Sport Chrono package as standard.

Moving over to the drivetrain you will find a SOHC V12 producing 250 horsepower at about 7,300 RPM. 3 Weber carbs sit on top of the block providing the fuel/air mixture. The car was equipped with a 4 speed manual transmission to help you get up to speed. With this combination, the 64 GTL reaches a top speed of 150 mph. Zero to 60 times are about 8 seconds. Very impressive for the time.

The exterior and add-on equipment of the Cayenne Turbo S live up to the high standards of a top model. Numerous exterior features such as the air inlet screens, headlight housings and mirror parts are painted in high-gloss black. The standard 21-inch 911 Turbo II wheels with coloured Porsche badges were exclusively designed for the Cayenne Turbo S; their inside surfaces are painted in high-gloss black.

In the suspension department the GTL has a double wishbone configuration up front. The rear is equipped with a leaf spring and parallel trailing arm setup. The car came with 4 wheel discs which was a rare option at the time.

Porsche designers created bi-colour leather packages in new colours and colour patterns specifically for the new Cayenne Turbo S. These interior features are available in black/carrera red or black/luxor beige colour combinations. The bi-colour leather packages that are reserved for the new top model were extended by adding decorative seams in the contrasting colours carrera red and luxor beige. The Carbon interior package complements the leather features and highlights the sophistication of vehicle and materials.

Luxury has always been synonymous with Ferrari. But so has performance. And when thinking of each of those elements, we need to take a peek at the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso. Produced from 1953 to 1964 the Ferrari 250 GT was a very successful line of Ferrari’s. 1964 was the last year in the line of what many would consider one of the best looking Ferrari’s and is our focus in this article. The Ferrari 250 GT Lusso was introduced at the 1962 Parisauto show. The 250 GT had flowing lines and a fastback which was typical of GT cars during the mid 60’s. The front end is curvaceous with the nose sloping downward. From straight on it displays a very large oval with the Ferrari logo smack in the middle.

In all, the 64 Ferrari GT Lusso brings the driver and passenger what was highly sought after in the mid 60’s: a sport racing element with plenty of comfort. Today, depending on condition, you can have that wonderful combination for anywhere between $250,000 and $740,000.
