Another term starts and another issue of The Trumpet has arrived. Time has flown by and the year rushes to its end. I think the message for this term that I want to leave with you is to remember the importance of working hard every day in order to achieve your goals, especially to persevere till the end. One does not become a musician, an engineer or an architect overnight. It demands a continuous striving towards those goals. Your school career is where you start learning how to achieve this. Homework is not only about learning subject content but also the discipline needed to reach your dreams. Setting up study time now and doing a little bit of work every day on your subjects means doing more focused study time closer to the exams and therefore obtaining better results. Are you up for the challenge? Matrics, push onwards for this last term and give it all you’ve got Good luck for term four. - Mr M. Mosdell September 2017

WHAT IS THE SWEETEST THING YOUR PARTNER HAS EVER DONE FOR YOU? L: One day he unexpectedly showed up at the gym hall while I was coaching, carrying a little box. Little did I know that inside was the thing I love the most…CHEESECAKE! M: When I was in hospital she came all the way from Sedgefield to come and visit me.
WHAT DO YOU ADORE MOST ABOUT YOUR PARTNER? L: What I adore the most about him is the effect that he has, not only on me, but everyone around him. He always seems to make everyone laugh. I love the fact that he shows his affection in a special way.

Top achievers’ breakfast By Lisa Bruwer This term the top academic achievers from each grade were pleasantly surprised with a visit to the Daily Coffee Shop. On Friday, the 18th of August, we walked down in high spirits to enjoy a hearty breakfast. We received a delicious breakfast and had many laughs. We truly appreciate the time and effort invested in this special day. Thank you!

IN LOVING MEMORY By Matthew Williams, Frederik Dippenaar and the Tuskie Family This year the Tuskie family suffered two devastating losses that left many people speechless. We said our goodbyes to Timothy Paine (matric in 2011) and Ninah-Ann Arendse (matric in 2016) Both of these iconic learners had an impact on the lives of so many people. We will remember the two of them as goal-driven, optimistic souls who brought light into the lives of those who crossed their paths. They had personalities that could brighten up any person‟s day. Our prayers are with those who were blessed enough to share their lives with Timothy and Ninah-Ann. “We need to remember not that you died, but that you lived.” Anonymous
