Römisch-Germanisches Museum
The Roman-Germanic Museum of Cologne displays the archaeological heritage of the city and its region in the BELGIAN HOUSE. It contains objects from more than 100,000 years of Rhenish history, from the Palaeolithic Age to the early Middle Ages. An exceptional treasure is the world's largest Roman glass collection with the tricolored Diatret cup (around 330/340 AD) and the miniature portrait of Emperor Augustus made of turquoise-green glass. Furthermore, the artistry of the people from the early Middle Ages can be seen in variants of fine jewelry for women and men - the assets of the Migration Period. These finds in the Roman-Germanic Museum are among the richest collections of early Europe.
