My Brothers, I’ve had much to think about these past few weeks. Thoughts of recent discussions with some of you, of things taking place among members in your Councils and of course my own life’s trials. Some of you are struggling this year with membership, completing the requirement’s to achieve Star Council, not to mention your Councils percapita and members not paying annual dues. What can I do? This is the question I ask myself over and over again. As a Grand Knight you may ask yourself the same question. Thinking of all that’s going on one thing stood out. “SATAN”. Who puts doubt in us? Satan. Who causes strife among friends and family? Satan. Who causes us to look inward (selfishly)? Satan. Does blaming Satan make what we face any less real? No. But if we give up and not try our best, whom can we blame then Supreme, California State Council, Chapter, Pastors or our own Brother Knights? Yes we struggle these are the crosses we bare as men, as Knights of Columbus, as Catholics. We will all have struggles in our lives do allow Satan to keep us down or do we pick up our cross as Jesus did and follow him? Some question why, does God allow this and that to happen? We know the answer. If bad things didn’t happened, how would we know the good.

We all know what it’s like to feel sad and happy, well and sick, liked and disliked, to win and lose. How do know these feelings? Because we’ve all experienced them and we are who we are because of these experiences. But most of all we are who we are because of the way we handled those experiences.

February 2019 (Continued from page 1)

So yes our Councils are struggling and yes our Councils are meeting those challenges head on. Councils in the Chapter are putting Faith into Action by holding men’s bible study, parish retreats, working with Habitat for Humanity, and a Councils annual pledge drive for Intellectual Disabilities and much, much more. Districts and Councils have also taken on the challenge of meeting and surpassing membership Goals. The majority of Districts in the Chapter have met or exceeded 50% of membership. More than half of the Councils in the Chapter have attained 50% of their membership goals and 12% of the Councils in the Chapter have reach 100% or more of their membership goal with one Council reaching 275% in membership. Satan is real, he does attack, and he lies, and wants us to take the easy way out. He does not want us to succeed especially if it brings more souls to Christ and make them not only Knights of Columbus but Saints Under Construction. Worthy Grand Knights, now is the time to fight Satan’s attack on your Council. Pray, pick up your cross and take action. This experience will make you a better man.

Praised be Jesus Christ.

Joe Corona Chapter President Knights of Columbus San Gabriel Valley Chapter Brothers, you should have received Chapter Billing Statement for Per-Capita. If you have a question regarding your Councils invoice please contact Chapter Treasure Thomas Quintana 626-863-7061 skthomasquintana@gmail.com Chapter Per Capita is an annual assessment.
