season, and we have not been disappointed, with record-breaking sales, high numbers of
qualified auction bidders, commercial sales thriving and new projects on the horizon to meet the demand. Spring is traditionally the busiest season of the year: with an average 15 percent increase in the number of homes for sale nationwide during the warmer months of September, October and November. On a historical 10-year average basis, 42,100 properties come to market per month across Australia (according to CoreLogic data). This average jumps to 48,700 per month during Spring.

A Lifetime of Cherished Memories Almost a quarter of a century’s worth of celebrations will soon draw to an end for the Jack Family at their luxury Main River estate By Donna Webeck
A
fter almost a quarter of a century of celebrations – from sweet 16ths to 50ths, engagements, anniversaries and even one very special wedding – it's time for a new family to create a legacy of cherished memories in an iconic six bedroom Main River estate.
"Our eldest daughter got married under the Jacaranda tree by the river, which was in full bloom. It was such a special day," Bruce recalls fondly of just one of the many milestone occasions to have graced the grounds of this meticulously manicured 2,411m2 double block with 38m waterfrontage.
For Bruce and Melisa Jack, who have been the proud custodians of 293-295 Monaco St, Broadbeach Waters for almost 25 years, and having raised their family of four beautiful daughters here, it will be bittersweet to say goodbye to a haven of such happiness.
"We had 120 people for the wedding and covered the pool with a big stage," Melisa adds. "We've had 100 people sitting outside on round tables for other events. I had my girlfriend's 50th here, my parent's 65th wedding anniversary, we've had all the

Revered as one of Main River's most stately residences, the Jack family purchased this estate in December 1996 and lived comfortably in the original residence until 2004 when a full facelift began. "It was built by a Toorak lawyer," Bruce recalls. "They said it would have been cheaper to knock it down and start again, but we felt like we wanted to keep the memories." "It was a beautiful old home with great bones," Melisa adds, "but we wanted to make it a bit bigger for the four girls." Moving out while local acclaimed builder, Dennis Beck, took the reins for the approx. two-year project, the couple were heavily involved in the design process. "We knew what we wanted, so we just sat down and did everything ourselves. Bruce and I have the same sort of taste, so it was easier to pull it together," she says. "It's probably more like a Melbourne, Toorak or Sydney, Mosman style home than a Gold Coast house. And it's quite different from the water than it is

to the front. When you walk down to the jetty and look back, it's a little bit more Georgian and traditional style at the front."
