Besides the tractor-driven 510C variant for drive ratings up to 500HP, there are also several lorry-mount variants. The Chippo 5010C is powered directly from the lorry engine and, with a drive rating of 480HP, provides throughputs of up to 220 cubic metres per hour. The largest machine in the family, the Chippo 7010C, has its own mounted Caterpillar C18 engine rated at 710HP and achieves throughputs of up to 300 cubic metres per hour. The general-purpose Axtor wood shredder is also new to the Komptech product portfolio. Also with 710HP from a Caterpillar C18, this machine attains throughputs of up to 300 cubic metres. Two different shredding modes, shredding and chipping, ensure general-purpose application. In addition, all other products for biomass treatment will be showcased – slowrunning shredding technology as well as star and drum screen technology. Employing around 500 people at nine sites in six countries across the globe, Komptech posted a turnover of €85m in 2008.
