GREETING LETTERS

House of Commons
Pam Damoff Member of Parliament On Lunar New Year, I’d like to wish you and your families my best. We welcome the arrival of the Year of the Rat, symbolizing wit, success, and a peaceful life. I hope your year is filled with these outstanding attributes.
Dear Friends, In celebration of the Chinese New Year, I bring greetings from Prime Minister Trudeau and the Government of Canada. The Chinese community is vital to the growth of strong and diverse communities across Canada and here in Oakville. I am so pleased to be able to celebrate the different festivals associated with the Chinese New Year. I was fortunate to hear many of the Starz musicians play at the opening of my constituency office on January 12, 2020. I was awed by the beauty of their performance. We in Oakville are lucky to have musicians of this high caliber in our midst. As the Member of Parliament for Oakville and newly-appointed Minister of Public Services and Procurement, I wish you well on this New Year; yours is an important legacy of which to be proud. Our government recognizes the importance of the Chinese community and will continue to work hard to support this community in the broader Canadian framework including right here in Oakville.
As we gather to celebrate the arrival of the New Year, we also take this time to recognize the incredible contributions that Canadians of Chinese origin have had on our country, this event being one of them. A fundraiser for the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, hosted by an amazing local music initiative which has grown so much in so little time, this event is a true example of community engagement and cooperation. I am particularly proud of the efforts of the Oakville Chinese community to promote and preserve Chinese culture while encouraging our Chinese neighbours to embrace Canadian traditions and join in celebrating Canadian values and culture. May the upcoming year bring to you and your loved ones peace, prosperity, good health and great happiness. Kung Hei Fat Choy! Sincerely,
I look forward to working with you as we continue to build a strong community and economy together here in Oakville and across the country. Yours very truly, Anita Anand Member of Parliament, Oakville Minister of Public Services and Procurement
Pam Damoff Member of Parliament, Oakville North-Burlington Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Indigenous Services

Gree$ng for 2020 Chinese New Year Concert hosted by Oakville Starz It is my great pleasure to offer a special gree2ng to organizers and guests of the 2020 New Year Concert hosted by the Oakville Starz. The Chinese New Year, the most important annual celebra2on, offers an exci2ng 2 week break in the middle of winter and an occasion for families and friends to gather to enjoy delicious food and warm friendship. Under the zodiac, this is also the Year of the Rat. Those born under this sign are usually blessed with strong crea2vity and are frequently employed as ar2sts, inventors and entrepreneurs. But equally important, the rat is a sociable animal of spirit and energy, with a love of family.
Greetings from Councillor Tom Adams On behalf of Town Council, I extend congratulations to all members of Oakville STARZ as you perform tonight.
This fundraiser for the Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital at Chinese New Year is significant as it supports the spirit of giving to the community. We are very fortunate to have a full service acute care hospital and excellent team of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals right here in Oakville. All staff members and volunteers at OTMH are deeply commiQed to providing quality and caring healthcare to pa2ents.

About Oakville STARZ
Oakville STARZ belongs to a non-profit organization formed by a group of young individuals and parents who love art, music, and enjoy. We use our strengths in contributing to society.
We have been continuously performing at different nursing homes twice a month,we take turns to create program list, stage management, hosting and collecting feedbacks in every
performance. We are actively participating in many community activities and found raising for sick kids or hospitals.
Behind this group of children are a group of immigrant parents. Years ago, when
arriving in Canada, the parents worked hard and tried their best to integrate themselves
into our constantly changing society. Today, they are doing their best to set up a suitable
platform for their children, helping them manage and build their children's own organization, supporting these Canada-born Chinese children to be self-reliant and hardworking no matter where they are, and know how to love and contribute to society.
Since its founding in September of 2018, Oakville Starz now has nearly two hundred
children, many of them have won multiple international and Canadian awards. These children have also formed their own groups: a choir and a band themselves.
Oakville STARZ
