prologue Greetings, My name is Korphai the whole stories that you are gonna see in this portfolio contained my work and my potential that I’ve accumulated in many years. All of the following works that have been selected for this portfolio are based on my interests in design, art, and concept. Those that have been refined and made into educational and experimental works have resulted in the development of skills in various fields before continuing to study in design and architecture school. I sincerely hope that in the future I will always learn new things, as well as to develop and build on my abilities and knowledge.

nerve my hand analysis life experience analysis anatomy study

type - anatomy analysis

2020

Three years ago I had an accident. From careless use of the toilet at school, It caused my right hand to be broken by a ceramic sink and cut my palm. This causes the nerves and ligaments to split. Fortunately, I was able to get to the hospital on time and the doctors were able to perform reconnection surgery. Unfortunately, my right hand was unable to function properly, as the neurological treatment took many years. It made me unable to fully use my hands. The physical therapy treatment had a positive effect on the way my hands worked. During the course of the treatment, I studied the nervous system and human perception through experiments on myself with different methods, such as testing the finger touch. And the movement of the fingers in a gesture that I could do at that time All the data from the battle and all the analyzes that were recorded gave me the inspiration to make a project with my hands. Through the presentation as a drawing And the use of color indicates my nervous system and perception.

40min after accident (my right hand)

Where my nerve is broken is the median nerve. These are the lines that control the movement of the thumb, forefinger, middle finger, and half ring finger. As a result, in the early stages, all the glazed parts are unable to move and perceive physical sensations.

parametric design bench bench design human posture analysis

2020

In Thai, The word “IRIYABOT” it’s mean the 4 movement and gesture of human being. Fourth of gesture contain Stand,Walk,Sit and Laydown.

The concept of this bench project was due to the fact that I took into account the different human poses, such as different people’s sitting posture, and the physical characteristics of the human being that each person had their unique characteristics. Such as height and shape which is an initiative. when we understand the identity of human beings. So I adopted parametric design, which is as complex and inconsistent likes human beings, not just sit in a fixed posture. There are distortion and asymmetry. But still, use the function Of sitting where humans can still sit on their seats in a satisfying posture.

[n.] body movements [n.] behavior, demeanor

In Thai, the word iriya means the 4 gestures of human beings. Whichisoneofthebeliefsofancient ThaiBuddhists. As for the existence. There are physical movements of standing, walking, sitting, and sleeping. which are the staplemovements of everyday life. So I took the name iriya to the bench. Designed for human sitting posture.

Before i starts working on research of human gesture i found some design ideas that makes me think about the form of wave and freeform design using parametric mesh. Its felt like more comfortable than ordinary bench.

Parametric design is a process based on algorithmic thinking that enables the expression of parameters and rules that, together, define, encode and clarify the relationship between design intent and design response.

inside the tube

I decided to use tube as the beam inside the model itself. by seperate the pieces of this bench, I insert the rings on the tube itself and between the bench

length 5.2 meter 94 pcs. 4 tube structure 384 rings

I started assembling all the seats from acrylic as they are transparent and visible to the structure. Where I started doing prototype From small models to understanding proprotion And number of pieces due to parametric design complexity in shape For the least mistakes So I assembled smaller pieces before assembling the larger ones.

private toilet for concentration. circulation design

2020

The inspiration that got me started to come up with this project Starting with the study of concentration In the human use of the toilet Because concentration in every moment is something that will be in everyday life. So I designed this master bathroom to be suitable for concentration and mindfulness in use. Designed to make every part of the bathroom a free-form curved shape because it is more user friendly and makes it look more gimmicky in the design. Combined with the use of a parametric design, the roof shape is not uncomfortable in use. The whole area can accommodate up to 2 people at a time to maintain social distance. Including a semi-passive design to reduce air conditioning consumption.

What I see in this picture more than a photograph is to see the life of the person in the picture, because the moment it was taken was around 7am, at that time, two of my friends in the picture took time to relax. And access to the natural surroundings as well as a serene atmosphere It made me see the specialness of the picture from the perspective of the thought flowing through the waves. taken by leica m6 with 35mm f2 lens kodak 400TX

This photo was taken in Hong Kong when I was sitting on a tram and looking down as two old men were crossing a crosswalk. When the heads of both men were in the same plane as the white lines on the road. This image gave me a better understanding of perspective because at some point the moment of sight The human eye level is not the same. Or the point where every element is clearly visible But humans can change their viewpoint to look at different points.

This series of pictures comes from the sight of me fascinated by the shadows and colours. Including the rhythm of people in different places.

Both images are from a panoramic film camera. I learned to use the camera along with a greater understanding of perspective. It made me concentrate on pressing the shot. Due to the interest in architecture and people’s livelihood It made me passionate about photography to capture what I see and keep from what can be seen with the eye and touch. Photography is one of the methods that are just as good as sketching.

Hong Kong is a city that has inspired me a lot. Because of the chaos of the small capital on the island It made me see the way of life of people in every part from living, commuting, working and traveling. As well as reaching the top of the 100-story building that I stood in, I could still see ships moving slowly from the shore. Until reaching the thickness of the people All I can see from a distance And the close-up that I have experienced myself

Black and white photography is my personal preference for visual taste. Because in science, the black and white film It can provide a higher dynamic range of images than film color, and also make the shadow of the object. It is beautiful through gradation from the darkest to the brightest. While still maintaining complete details in the image.

JP0419 08.12.2019 Nagano, Japan simplicity

When I traveled in Japan Try to avoid traveling in the dark because I personally want to take time to think and reflect on life. This allowed me to go out into the countryside of Nagano province. Nature everywhere is always beautiful In the time before the sun sets I looked at the big valley. And observe the peace of nature And the shadow of the dwelling houses of the villagers in the shadow of the great valley While people still live in the simple nature.

concept diagram

This project is a prototype building for a variety of applications. For example, it is used as a museum or multipurpose building. The starting point for this project came from the need to design a large functional building For understanding of managing large spaces. In addition to gaining an understanding of space through a diagram, I have experimented with designing designs to direct t he light in buildings using render to gain a better understanding of lighting and space. The inspiration for this project came from the fact that. I saw an old building that looked like it was abandoned. And renovate back to be able to return to be useful for usability. The surprising part is Instead, I re-designed a building that resembes an abandoned building to make it functional.

The visible part of the picture is the view from the stairs looking up the hallway. The reason for the design of the stairs to have light is because they can see them clearly in low light conditions.

This is the 1st floor of the building. In the back entrance It was obvious that there would be a lot of light in the building as a large light hole was penetrated at the end of the building. So that users can see the entrance and exit clearly

All spaces can accommodate a small number of people to make their work more efficient, including having a rest area to accommodate the This Working Space are build for everyone.Key concept is the passive design, this working space must minimize use of artificial light .

I Sketch a lot of Floorplan because i need to explore my ideas and simplifiled the form and complex shape. This project is quite difficult. In other words, We didn’t understand every aspect of user. But we must imagine about infinite possability that people could be able to does in just small space.

It achieves this by using free, renewable sources of energy such as sun and wind to provide household heating, cooling, ventilation and lighting, thereby reducing or removing the need for mechanical heating or cooling. Using passive design can reduce temperature fluctuations, improve indoor air quality and make a home drier and more enjoy-

passive

design

Passive design is the key to sustainable building. It responds to local climate and site conditions to maximise building users’ comfort. and health while

First of all, My sketch of this project is the key concept about design the buildings that i think it’s gonna solved some energy use and living Ever since i have learned what is sustainable architecture,I realized that i live in those building since i was a child. Because in every classroom of my school, Their didn’t have Air-Con in the class. The reason is they needed the student to live with nature and learn about nature.
