The famous ghost town of Thurber comes back to life-at Tarleton State University’s W.K. Gordon Center for Industrial History of Texas. Through artful reconstructions, historical artifacts, period photographs, interactive exhibits, and video displays, you can relive Thurber’s unforgettable journey from boom town to ghost town. After our tour we will enjoy lunch at the famous Smokestack Restaurant. Participants must register at the KSAC.

If shopping isn't your forte then the dining may bring you this way with Bailey's Prime Plus or Razoo's. Or perhaps the open pavilion in the center of the plaza with free water fountains for the kids to play in while the adults munch on fresh pretzels and lemonade from the Wetzel's Pretzels.
