Her Name Was Grace Kelly

I have been enamored with Grace Kelly since I was a little girl, beginning with childhood summers spent at my grandparents’ house watching classic movies. I watched Grace’s films many times over, and knowing her real-life story of becoming a princess only added to her mystique and glamour. I thought I knew a lot about her, but this documentary blew me away. I am so excited that it will come to KQED 9 this fall and to Passport members this August. Through an exclusive agreement with the Principality of Monaco, Her Name Was Grace Kelly chronicles Grace’s life as told through the Grimaldi family private archives. Starting with home movies shot by Grace’s father in 1932, the documentary also showcases 8mm, 16mm and Super 8 film shot by Grace Kelly and Prince Rainier. Passport members can stream the film starting August 1, before it comes to broadcast later this fall. —Meredith Speight, Director, TV Programming
