Kreativni centar (Creative Centre) is a leading publisher of children’s books in Serbia. Founded in 1989, Kreativni centar started as a small, family based publisher, producing picture books, books for children, handbooks for parents, teachers and all other professionals working with children. Right from the start, Kreativni centar put all its effort in making books that support children during their childhood, offering them an opportunity to develop creativity, imagination and practical skills. Kreativni centar offers around 700 titles intended for different age groups: preschool children (from 2 to 7), pupils in elementary and secondary schools (from 7 to 19) and adults who work with children (parents, teachers, pedagogues, psychologists and others). About 65% of the total number of titles are written and illustrated by domestic authors. You will find a selection of these titles divided into a number of different series in this catalogue: picture books, popular science books, textbooks, handbooks, fairy tales, poetry and novels. The rights for many of the titles listed in this catalogue have been sold in more than 30 countries all over the world with excellent sales results. Kreativni centar has developed a large scale publishing line of textbooks for elementary school and preschool institutions. Textbooks in all subjects – Math, Literature, Grammar, Music, Health education, Arts, Nature and community – are supported by activity books and workbooks for students and handbooks for teachers. Kreativni centar is a member of the European Educational Publishers Group - EEPG www.eepg.org. Kreativni centar has 38 employees and our books are sold in 600 bookstores in the Balkan region. The jury of the Belgrade International Book Fair had announced Kreativni centar as the best Serbian publishing house in 2009.

Children aged 6 and 7 develop logical thinking at a growing rate and that is very important for various mathematical activities that stimulate mental development. The tasks are interesting, puzzle like and not typical. Coming up with an idea of solving the problem develops the creative potential and the intuition that is required for mathematics in general. Both books contain diploma and stickers which are to be used for rating of child’s performance in solving tasks. In this way children are taught to assess their work and judge its value which has a substantial educative effect. To read about other titles from Activity books series please turn to page 17
