H O LY DAY OR

aster is one of the most unmissable events on the Christian calendar. This is the time when the death and

resurrection of Jesus Christ is celebrated. It is also a time known to be embellished with various man-shaped habits and traditions. They are seldom questioned or researched. Do you ever wonder about the origin of pickled fish, hot cross buns, Easter eggs and chocolate bunnies?

H O L I DAY ?

Well, perhaps these things are too delicious to question. Perhaps it is needed to chew more into the symbolism and meaning of these traditions.

VOCA (short for vocable) > Noun - a word, especially with reference to form rather than meaning. In the broadest sense of the word, a vocable is any meaningful sound uttered by people, such as a word or term, that is fixed by their language and culture. However, use in the broad sense is archaic.

COVID-19 MYTH BUSTERS The World Health Organisation (WHO) recently released a few myths in relation to COVID-19 with a truth that connects to that specific myth.

Related Terms: Quarantine: A state, period, or place of isolation in which people or animals that have arrived from elsewhere or been exposed to infectious or contagious disease are placed. National Lock down: A lock down is an emergency protocol that usually prevents people or information from leaving an area. The only services that will be allowed to run will be essential services, such as groceries, hospitals, pharmacies and banks. Pandemic: A disease prevalent over a whole country or the world. Epidemic: A widespread occurrence of an infectious disease in a community at a particular time.

MYTH: Cold or hot temperatures can kill the virus. TRUTH: There is no reason to believe that cold weather can kill the new coronavirus or other diseases. Taking a hot bath will not prevent you from catching COVID-19. Actually, taking a hot bath with extremely hot water can be hazardous, as it can burn you. MYTH: Hand dryers can be used to kill COVID-19. TRUTH: Hand dryers are not effective in killing COVID-19. MYTH: UV lamps are affective to sterilise hands. TRUTH: UV lamps should not be used to sterilise hands or other areas of skin as UV radiation can cause skin irritation. MYTH: Spraying alcohol or chlorine over your body can kill the new coronavirus. TRUTH: Spraying alcohol or chlorine all over your body will not kill viruses that have already entered your body. Spraying such substances can be harmful to clothes or mucous membranes (i.e. eyes, mouth). Be aware that both alcohol and chlorine can be useful to disinfect surfaces, but they need to be used under appropriate recommendations. MYTH: Vaccines against pneumonia can protect against COVID-19. TRUTH: Vaccines against pneumonia, such as pneumococcal vaccine and

Haemophilus influenza type B (Hib) vaccine, do not provide protection against the new coronavirus. The virus is so new and different that it needs its own vaccine. Researchers are trying to develop a vaccine against 2019-nCoV, and WHO is supporting their efforts. MYTH: Regularly rinsing your nose with saline will assist in preventing infection with COVID-19. TRUTH: There is no evidence that regularly rinsing the nose with saline has protected people from infection with the new coronavirus. There is some limited evidence that regularly rinsing nose with saline can help people recover more quickly from the common cold. MYTH: Eating garlic assists in preventing infection with COVID-19. TRUTH: Garlic is a healthy food that may have some antimicrobial properties. However, there is no evidence from the current outbreak that eating garlic has protected people from the new coronavirus. MYTH: COVID-19 only affect people of certain ages. TRUTH: People of all ages can be infected by the new coronavirus. Older people, and people with pre-existing medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, and heart disease) appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus.

Sound Room Track: Be Glorified Artist: Vibrancy Collective Album: One

P IC T U RE STO RY

Bride of Christ BY Annie de Beer

BE GLORIFIED is a response to “who am I that you are mindful of me” and a declaration that the “The earth is the Lord’s and everything in it, the world and all who live in it”. We can call on God in our respective languages, in every situation, knowing that he is omnipotent. We can praise him together, be creative together, God’s imperfect people rejoicing in their glorious God! A glory that covers us, that overshadows what is seen and foregrounds all the hope we have in Him! For all we hope for as individuals and a nation he is exceedingly able. We wanted to rededicate the Land to God. Every Tribe, every Nation and every tongue. We loved the declarative nature of this song. This song also captures the ‘sound’ of South Africa. Being able to sing in Zulu, Afrikaans, English and Sotho creates a sense of pride and joy as we unite together glorifying God.

[OIL ON CANVAS]

We hope that you can feel the unity on this song. We hope that people will focus their hearts, attention, lives and everything towards glorifying God, no matter our situation or circumstances. We hope that all of us as a nation, as diverse as we are will sing this song and glorify God together. Let us raise a mighty sound!

He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. Therefore this joy of mine is fulfilled. - JOHN THREE VERSE TWENTY NINE (NKJV)

MONEY MOMENT

DAVE RAMSEY’S 7 BABY STEPS Forget everything you know about money-management plans. With Dave’s 7 Baby Steps, you don't need a degree in finance to take control of your money. Anyone can do it! With each step, you’ll change how you handle money — little by little.

Dave’s radio show and podcast, The Dave Ramsey Show, reaches more than 13 million listeners each week.

Baby Step 4: Invest 15% of Your Household Income in Retirement It's time to get serious about retirement—no matter your age. Take 15% of your gross household income and start investing it into your retirement. Invest the rest into a special retirement account - one for you and one for your spouse (if you’re married). Baby Step 5: Save for Your Children’s Tertiary Studies By this step, you've paid off all debts (except the house) and started saving for retirement. Next, it's time to save for the expenses required for your children’s tertiary

education. (That is, if they make it through Maths and Science unscathed). We recommend an Education Savings Account.

Baby Step 1: Save $1,000 (R 18 715,50) for Your Starter Emergency Fund In this first step, your goal is to save this amount as fast as you can. Your emergency fund will cover those unexpected life events you can't plan for. And there are plenty of them. You don’t want to dig a deeper hole while you’re trying to work your way out of debt!

Baby Step 6: Pay Off Your Home Early Now, bring it all home. Baby Step 6 is the big dog! Your mortgage is the only thing between you and complete freedom from debt. Can you imagine your life with no house payment? Any extra money you can put toward your mortgage could save you tens (or even hundreds) of thousands in interest.

Baby Step 2: Pay Off All Debt (Except the House) Using the Debt Snowball Next, it’s time to pay off the cars, the credit cards,

knock out your debts one by one.

Baby Step 3: Save 3–6 Months of Expenses in a Fully Funded Emergency Fund You’ve paid off your debt! Don’t slow down now. Take that money you were throwing at your debt and build a fully funded emergency fund that covers 3–6 months of your expenses. This will protect you against life’s bigger surprises, like the loss of a job or your car breaking down, without slipping back into debt.
