GOVERNMENT ISSUED a new regulation specifically banning the sale of hot cooked food during the Covid-19. MICHELLE OBAMA WILL BE READING children's books every Monday until May 11 to help lift spirits with beloved stories while many parents and families are spending more time at home. The former first lady's reading sessions, titled "Mondays With Michelle Obama," are free and available for kids and parents tuning in from anywhere in the world. "At this time when so many families are under so much stress, I'm excited to give kids a chance to practice their reading and hear some wonderful stories, and to give parents and caretakers a much-needed break," Obama said. “As a little kid, I loved to read aloud," she continued. "And when I became a parent, I found such joy in sharing the magic of storytelling with my own children - and then later, as first lady, with kids everywhere.” businessinsider.com
JOHANNESBURG - Government will this week provide information on direct interventions to shield the most vulnerable citizens from the grim prospect of starvation, according to President Cyril Ramaphosa. Writing in his weekly newsletter, Ramaphosa said South Africans are currently facing many difficulties but, "wondering where their next meal will come from shouldn't be one of them.” The president says "alleviating hunger is not an act of charity" but "an imperative for every society that is founded on respect for human rights”. He also acknowledges that food support can only be a short-term emergency measure. This, he says, will need to be matched by sustainable economic solutions.

(as young as from toddler stage), but to start with yourself as well. The truth is, many adults also lack the skill of emotional intelligence and need to nurture this skill in their own lives as well before being able to teach their child. An adult’s emotional reactions to certain situations will set the tone for children. Thus communicating a certain message to the child about emotions and how emotions should be approached. It’s crucial to understand the importance and benefits of emotional intelligence, there are many resources that will be able to assist in gaining some insight into this topic. Introducing toys with a specific task will assist a child with recognising emotions, self-regulation and imagination. The task of the toy teaches the child independence, problem solving abilities and it builds selfesteem. The child will realise, “I can do this” and when a parent cheers them on, their self-esteem will increase even more. Imagination is vital for children to assist in problem solving. That’s why screen time is so detrimental to children since it curbs creativity and self-regulation. Toys doesn’t have to be an expense, making age appropriate toys with your child has

early age that tears doesn’t mean ‘weak’ and aggression doesn’t mean ‘strong’ will also assist in curbing the societal distortions. Simple encounters like sharing affection with your child or accepting their affection and gifts regardless of how insignificant it may look to you (i.e. a rock or picture with scribbles on) will also assist them with gaining more insight into emotions. Simply listening to a child when they have something to share with you will communicate a message to them that what they have to offer or say is of value. If they get dismissed they might grow up to believe that what they have to offer is insignificant. PERSIST IN DOING GOOD The truth is that children go through

AFFIRMATION AS A TOOL Besides teaching emotional intelligence through play another facet to teaching emotional intelligence is through affirmation. An affirmation is a declaration and believe of something positive. Basically speaking truth over your child’s life and also allowing them to say it out loud. These affirmations may sound like, “You are loved, cared for, wanted, needed, seen, adored, taken seriously, brave, courageous, etc.” and then the child repeats these after you, by making it personal, “I am...” This might be easier to do with younger children, but might seem challenging or
uncomfortable situations daily which evoke certain emotions, whilst their parents or other adults aren’t around. In those instances having the skills to understand that emotions aren’t a bad thing matched with the ability to recognise and process what they’re feeling, will be greatly beneficial to the child and the actions they take. This process of teaching a child emotional intelligence through these three steps (play, affection and affirmation), might seem daunting, but let’s not grow weary of doing good for your child and the generations to come will reap the fruits.

LET’S GET TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS
WEEKLY
MOPPING MY SOUL deeper a lot of things increase. The deeper you go in the water the greater the pressure of the water pushing down on you. Calm seas do not make a skilled sailor. So I guess shallow waters never produced skilled deep-sea divers? Going deep is scary if you think you’re going alone. Therefore I am anchored in my Saviour. He is in me and I am in Him. Drowning is not an option. Isaiah 43:2 confirms this, it says, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you." You were always intended to go deep and He has always been ready to go with you. Going deeper can be seen as a process of “mopping” your soul. This is the part where you have to ask yourself, “Am I trying to become clean or just smell good?” Are you really trying to sort yourself out or just have a glimmer of Christ? Do you want Him to wash you clean? Or are you satisfied with only displaying a few characteristics of Christ and tell yourself, “well that is enough.” I think these past few days and weeks have taught us that ‘good enough’ is really not enough…we need more. While you can survive without a lot of stuff, Christ has always been the essential. God has been laying these thoughts on my heart. Do you really

those floors clean or just smelling good?” I had to smile because He knew I was doing a horrible job at this whole mopping business. And to be honest…I was only trying to get the floor to smell good. At that moment I was convicted. God showed me that this is the same thing you do with yourself. You always say you are ‘working on yourself’, figuring out that issue you’ve been struggling with, but you never do. You’re satisfied with simply smelling good but never really being clean. This year has taken somewhat of a crazy turn, but I believe not for the worse. This year God has been calling me to a deeper relationship in and not with Him. Being ‘with’ someone means you can leave; you can drop out; you can run away when the going gets tough. Thus when I’m in Him and seek deeper relationship in Him I have nowhere to go. I’m in it for the long run. A lot has happened in this time that goes above and beyond a virus. When I started seeking a deeper relationship with God I didn’t expect it to be this difficult. I knew it wouldn’t be easy but I also didn’t expect it to be this real and this raw. Sometimes ugly. So many tears. So many questions. So many dead ends and not knowing where I am going next. It took my mind a while to realise that when you go

Author Georges Perec also wrote the Frenchlanguage book La Disparition without the letter 'e' in 1969. That's even more astounding when you consider that the letter 'e' is the most commonly used letter in the English (and French!) language.

will not be shaken. We will not forget. We will remember. Track 2, More To Me (with Chandler Moore) speaks of the privilege we have to call God our first and most. The desire to know Him. The delight in knowing Him. "All of the others, they don't matter / they come after / You mean more to me." Title Track (3), Forever Amen presents the clear revelation and understanding of Who has called us and what we're called for. "All I am is wrapped up in You" is a dancing ribbon in the presence of the Father and the declaration made to Him alone. Forever. Amen. No One Ever Cared For Me like - Jesus (Track 4). What a testimonial of love. Almost like a message in a bottle, travelling through the purest ocean, delivered back to the ones who will come to know where they come from. Who they come from. Where they truly belong. The Olive Grove (Track 5) is a panoramic vision of eternity. And how all of God's love, salvation, favour, anointing, provision and blessing is located there, upon just the tip of His finger. It's a new song unto the Lord. As He guides and takes us on journeys of adventure, discovery and recovery. We have been made new. Track 6, This Close (with Chandler Moore) invites us into the knowledge of how close the Father can be. When we break through the walls of hide and seek. He invites us to invite Him in, so

we can step out of everything that hinders our effortless intimacy with Him. Matt Maher joins Gretzinger on Centre of All History (Track 7). This offering is effortless worship unto Him Who sits upon the Throne. Acknowledging His Praise forever, hailing holy hallelujahs unto the Holy One. As we are called to be holy as He is holy. This duet represents unity that commands a blessing. Track 8, Christ the Lord is with Me (with Amanda Lindsey Cook & Wonder Grace Gretzinger) is a thrilling declaration of covenant and confidence. Knowing and believing that God is Emmanuel. His presence and faithfulness remains with us, regardless of where we are, Christ the Lord is with us. "We long for You and no one else could satisfy us like You do, Jesus" is the core expression within Great Assembly (Closing Track - 9). This song is a glorious visual of creation made in His image, coming together in unity and intimacy, even in a great assembly. There's purpose, passion, patience (love). Publicly. Personally. This album is for the listener who seeks to be found in Christ. In His presence, His warmth, His glory and His righteousness. It is an offering of Hope, Trust, Blessing and Pursuit. It takes every thought captive and releases the heart from heaviness. It is a platform for rest. Go in, come out, find pasture, and bask in His fullness.

MY MIRACLE MOMENT (M.M.M)
< FROM BACK PAGE
they wanted me back at the club in order to prepare for the important playoffs (fight for survival). I was sad that I had to give up the opportunity to play for my national team, but I was faithful to my club and left immediately to go and prepare for the playoffs. The playoffs kicked off and we started well with a win and a draw. Then we lost, we were now left in a position whereby we had no choice but to win the last game. Were ended up losing 4 - 3. It was such a memorable game but also this meant relegation for us. When a team gets relegated, it potentially means many may lose their jobs and it could mark the end of some players’ careers. This goes down as one of my saddest footballing moments. Ironically I scored 12 goals this season which goes down as my personal best in top flight football. I asked myself how is it possible that my team could be relegated while I was runner up for top goalscorer in the league? I came to the conclusion that this was all God’s work, this was beyond what I could dream of. This was all part of His plan for my life. I sparked up interest from other clubs and they all wanted to sign me. This is nothing short of a miracle looking back to where I was and where i am now. All Glory to God. Every season, teams come up and teams go down. In other words, the team that comes up wins or is being promoted from a lower division into the top league (PSL or Premier Soccer League). The team that ends last from the top league gets relegated to the lower division. The team that ends second last in the top league automatically enters

into a playoff competition with 2 of the teams from the lower division (Glad Africa Championship). They compete for the a place in the top league (PSL), whoever wins will move up and the two who loses will remain in the Lower division. Unfortunately for myself and Santos Fc, we ended up second last, we now had to play in the Playoffs. Before the playoffs started I was called to play in the National SA team (Bafana Bafana). I played alongside Steven Pienaar who played abroad alongside a few other big names. This

was an achievement for my hard work and a reward for my goal scoring form. To cut a long story short; for the first time I was given the opportunity to play for the national team. However, to my disappointment, I was called back from my club. It was understandable why they did this,
