EDITORIAL NOTE
11th COLLEGE WEEK
In his book Ignited Minds A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who also authored Wings of Fire and India 2020 quotes thus:
DBC MARAM WELCOMES NATIONAL ADVISIOR FOR AICUF NSS SOCIAL WORK AT ITS ADOPTED VILLAGE DBC MARAM WELCOMES FRIENDS FROM GERMANY SPIRITUAL CONVENTION PROFESSOR AND DOCTOR VISITS DBC MARAM NSS FOUNDATION DAY 2011 AICUF RESIDENTIAL CAMP SEMINAR ON “RECENT TRENDS IN SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPMENT.” SPRINGS IN MARAM DR. “Dream, dream, dream. Dream transforms into thoughts. And thoughts result in action.” Yes, there’s power in a dream especially when it is backed up by genuine motivation. Though at times dreams may seem ‘beyond belief’ yet a good dose of ‘can do’ attitude will always keep us in good stead. Then we shall never be weakened by any situation. Only we need to focus on the goal we set. It is said that when hunting dogs go on a hunting mission, the dog which runs the fastest is the one which sees its prey. In one of her songs entitled ‘when’ Shania twain sings “If elephants could fly, I’d be little more optimistic but I don’t think that’s happening anytime soon…” and waits for things to happen “When money grows on trees…” Yet, we know that no tree has ever worked such wonder. If we wait for things to happen, nothing may happen. Instead, we should make things happen. This implies hard work, determination discipline and a host of other virtues. Only then we can realize whatever dreams we have. Do we have dreams at all? They have the power to ignite our minds and to change our life. Sr. K.C. Monica FMA

DBCMaram Voice DAYS OF GRACE “‘For I know the plans that I have for you’, declares the Lord, ‘plans for welfare and not for calamity to give you a future and a hope.’” Jeremiah 29:11. God made all of us for a reason and has a unique plan – a plan that is always intended for our very best. Many a times, things go haywire and we mistake our presence or involvement with certain things as a mere hit and miss. But, we must always remember that our loving Father in heaven makes no accidents. God is not haphazard; he plans it all with great precision. It is not by fate, nor chance, nor luck, nor coincidence that you are where you are today. He had planned that you be here in DBC,Maram doing your degree or higher secondary. Perhaps you never planned on doing your course, perhaps it never even once crossed your mind, or even perhaps it was the dream of your life. Whatever it may be, God had decided determined all of it before hand. We often grumble and whine about things we don’t have. We say that we don’t have freedom and life can’t be enjoyed. But has it ever crossed our minds to take time and count the blessings that we have? I am sure that if we honestly examine each of our lives, there are numerous blessings that we easily overlook. Why don’t we resolve to take time to realize what we have instead of finding out what we don’t? There are some of us who think that we have not achieved anything in life so far, and we forecast that at this rate, we won’t achieve much; hence underestimate ourselves. Always remember that the future can be a totally different chapter that bears no similarity with your past. Hand in hand with God, you are the author of your life. It’s never too late to seek His help for He never rejects those who turn to Him. Act now! After all, there’s always light at the end of the darkest, longest and dingiest tunnel. We may have many questions, doubts and fears about what the future holds for us. But never let this go out of your heart, ‘God loves you’. He loves you whatever be the condition and the circumstances. Friends may fail us, so can teachers and maybe even parents. But God, who created us out of His abundant mercy, will never stop loving us. Hence, one will always desire every day of his life on earth, and particularly every day of our life at DBC, to be DAYS OF GRACE… God Bless You All!!! Paul Emil Johnson Jesus Youth Fulltimer
