Abstract: The thesis project aims at collaboration as a core in the modern urban context where the appreciation for various art forms fades away gradually. The main focus is on Cholamandal art village in Chennai which is progressing towards the loss of its congenial community. The approach involves the stages of creative process of artists and also provides a collective mind-space which accentuates the qualities of old Cholamandal and a platform as an interaction between public and artists.
