Dear Fellowship Family, It is with great honor that I share our 2023 Annual Report with you. Today, my posture is one of reflection and gratitude for the previous school year as I write this in my 20th and final year as Head of School at Fellowship. I am grateful to have served Jesus here with you, my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Over the last 20 years, we have had front-row seats to the incredible favor the Lord has shown us, from enrollment growth to academic strength and spiritual formation. Successfully stewarding our relationships and resources honors God and our families. Stewardship is one of our core values at Fellowship, a responsibility our team has held sober-mindedly to steer the hearts, minds, and souls of your children, while also governing our financial resources, fostering healthy relationships, and embracing the opportunities God sends our way. I am impressed with all we accomplished together last year. With a record 98% re-enrollment, we continued to experience waitlists for multiple classes. The resounding commitment from our families confirmed the story that lives are being changed and families are actively seeking the covenant education and community that Fellowship has to offer. In light of stewarding all that has been given to us, we improved our campus with the retrofitting of the Paladin Outpost, a separate and dedicated space for our 5th grade students to have a place to call home.

opportunities that helped shape their future aspirations. Our Athletic teams achieved great success in their first year competing in Class AA, with eight teams making it to the State playoffs and four teams earning their way to the State Tournament. Among many successes, seven of our teams were Region/Area champions, boys tennis finished as the GHSA Class AA State Runner-up, and girls soccer secured the GHSA Class AA State Championship title. Your 2022-2023

Annual Fund Gifts at Work Thank you to our Remarkable Fellowship community! With more than 93% parent participation, you contributed $551,324 to the 2022-2023 Annual Fund! Your generosity and commitment are truly making a difference at our school. While tuition covers operational expenses each year, the money raised through the Annual Fund contributes to the special projects and initiatives that allow your children to benefit from the intentional curriculum and purposeful programming that sets Fellowship apart. Your support enabled us to invest in a number of initiatives, including: safety & security updates, theater upgrades, curriculum investments, professional development, transportation additions, and a new sound system.

Additionally, each year, we allocate a portion of funds to financial aid. We feel strongly that cost should not prohibit a desiring family from providing their child with a covenant, Christian education. Thank you for standing in the gap and allowing us to offer aid to deserving families. We are immensely grateful for your generosity. You play an important role in making this place Remarkable.

ARTS - THEATER UPGRADES The stage in Gym 1 is home to our weekly chapel services, all theatrical productions, and quarterly professional development. It received a much-needed facelift thanks to this year’s Annual Fund investment with the purchase of new blue curtains and state-of-the-art performance lights. These upgrades took our performance space to the next level, enabling our students to learn and grow in this environment.

SAFETY & SECURITY Our students’ and staff’s safety and security remain a top priority at Fellowship. With the 2022-2023 Annual Fund, we were able to make significant improvements to our security systems, which included updating Officer Gooden’s security office with a comprehensive monitoring system allowing security patrol from a single location, additional cameras on campus to fill in gaps of coverage, and upgraded fencing. By increasing the height and reinforcing the integrity of the fencing, we have provided increased safety for our students, staff, and families at the walk-through gates, middle school modular buildings, and Bob Lord Field.

CURRICULUM INVESTMENT As part of our Biblical integration and preparing students for the world in which they live, we invested a portion of our Annual Fund into a Digital Habits Curriculum for middle and high school students called #winatsocial by The Social Institute (TSI). This curriculum provides practical knowledge from a Biblical worldview, assisting students and parents with grade-specific content in navigating social media and technology in healthy ways. The curriculum teaches resilience, soft skills, problem-solving, and communication skills through critical thinking practice.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & APPRECIATION When we invest in our teachers and staff, we invest in the success and future of our students. Gifts to the Annual Fund helped support a new program called Achievement Reward Framework (or “ARF”) to encourage and reward employees’ professional growth. In addition, some of the Annual Fund gifts were utilized to show appreciation to our faculty and staff throughout the year, building stronger relationships and culture for our team.

GIVING WITH PURPOSE Discover The Various Ways You Can Support Fellowship’s Mission and Vision

While tuition covers expenses, Fellowship relies heavily on the generosity of our parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends. If you wish to support the covenant mission and vision of Fellowship, there are many ways that you can contribute to our success and continued growth. All gifts, no matter the size, directly impact our students, faculty, and staff as they help to create the environments and experiences that set Fellowship apart.

Annual Giving –

Endowment Giving –

As Fellowship’s number one fundraiser, the Annual Fund provides for programming and educational enrichment projects not funded by tuition. What does that mean exactly? While tuition covers operational expenses, contributions made to the Annual Fund help finance projects that benefit the daily experiences of our students, faculty, and staff. Whether investing in new computers, professional development for our faculty, renovating a classroom, or completing construction that allows for our new dining services, the projects supported by the Annual Fund make a transformational difference for every student every day.

The Fellowship Legacy Fund will provide a permanent, sustainable source of funding for Fellowship. Gifts to the Legacy Fund serve as the principal that is invested, and each year a portion of the value of the fund is paid out to support the fund’s purpose. Any annual earnings above and beyond the distribution are reinvested into the fund, increasing its market value and its ability to provide support for its designated purpose into perpetuity. Each gift made to the Fellowship Legacy Fund helps to increase the principal investment and can be designated to support projects that align with the donors’ interests.*

Planned Giving –

Georgia GOAL –

Planned giving is simply arranging a gift now to be allocated at a future date. Through a will or trust, individuals can choose to designate Fellowship, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, as the beneficiary of retirement, insurance, stock, or mutual fund accounts.*

Through Georgia’s Education Expense Credit, the GOAL Scholarship Program allows taxpayers to designate their tax dollars for the improvement of K-12 educational opportunities. Due to Fellowship’s partnership with Georgia GOAL, taxpayer contributions help to provide financial aid for qualified, covenant students, enabling them to benefit from a Fellowship education. In turn, taxpayers benefit by receiving a 100% Georgia income tax credit in exchange for their contribution.

* Planned Giving and Endowment Giving work hand-in-hand. While donors may designate a planned gift from a will, trust, etc. to a capital campaign or other specified projects, those same gifts can also be designated for investment in an existing Endowment to allow the gift to live on in perpetuity.

ANNUAL GIVING

ENDOWMENT GIVING

The Annual Fund runs July 1 through June 30 each year and raises over $500,000 toward the operating budget.

What is it?

The endowment, comprised of invested restricted and unrestricted funds, helps Fellowship plan for a sustainable future.

Funds, typically used in the year given, are flexible, accessible, and used like a checking account to fund projects that support and enhance the educational experiences of our students.

How does it work?

The principal gift is invested and a small percentage is drawn each year for designated projects. This fund is steady and ongoing like a retirement fund, providing for future growth.

The Annual Fund projects vary each year based on need. Funds may be used for technology enhancements, small construction projects, curriculum purchases, athletics, arts, STEM, and much more.

Where is it used?

Endowment funds are most often used to support faculty development and compensation, financial assistance for deserving covenant students, and special academic programming. Fellowship Christian School AR | 2022 - 2023
