INDUSTRIAL DESIGN GIVEAWAY Lasercut shades and earbud bike

OBJECTIVE To create a giveaway object that the SCAD Industrial Design Department could distribute to incoming and prospective students. Utilizing the laser cutter, Kristen Jussila and Nick Baker created a wood sheet containing parts that could be broken off and assembled. The sunglasses work similar to the popular “shutter shades.� The earbud bike is a handy way to store earbuds on the go. Both items represent the city of Savannah and the essence of industrial design.
SHADES The “shutter shades� were inspired by the current trends in style and their appeal to younger prospective students.
EARBUDS The earbuds were inspired by the large bike culture found in Savannah, GA and among the students at SCAD.
