TWBTA: kimball art center P RO J E C T Five architecture firms were invited to design the new Kimball Ar t Center. The Kimball’s goals were to increase community outreach, enhance the quality and scale of their exhibitions, and inspire patrons. Competitors were also asked to preserve/restore the current historic structure that is now home to the Kimball. I and another architect worked on a competition entry for the Kimball Art Center Transformation Project. I mainly participated in the construction of the model, but I was also included in every design meeting with the principals of the firm. CONCEPT Framed openings to mountains and the sky Interactive exterior scrim for movie projection Connection to community with multiple gathering spaces Operable copper panels provide protection and allow breezes Create a hub for the Sundance Film Festival MEDIUM Photoshop, Hand-Rendering, Illustrator, Museum Board, Basswood, Copper EXTERIOR RENDERING

The main priority is to embed the building into the landscape without dramatically impacting it.
