As spring quarter comes to a close we can confidently look back at the year and say we’ve accomplished quite a lot. We’ve started an awesome organization, created a partnership is The Hunger Project, had a representative attend the Clinton Global Initiative University conference, raised over $1000 during a fundraiser, gave out our first grilled cheese during Earth Dinner, and added a few members to our group. So take a look at our recent activities and get inspired to help end world hunger, one grilled cheese at a time!

Cheese Points Don’t forget to check out the website and rack up your cheese points! These points can give us the cash we need to keep going. The website is always changing so ask for help if you need it!

Elections! It’s that time of the year to select new officers. We may still have some of the same fantastic officers, but this gives everyone a fair to get involved as much as they want. On Tuesday May 31st we held elections! These are our new officers and position descriptions: President

Secretary: Rachel Mangan

Paige Edmiston

The secretary takes notes at every meeting to keep things organized and make sure nothing is forgotten. With notes and a monthly newsletter, FeelGood is able to keep on track with events and news.

The president coordinates meetings, is our main spokesperson and motivator to keep this cheese operation working.

Treasurer

Vice President and Membership Coordinator

Salyna Sek

Amanda Tran The vice president assists the president in anything that needs to be done. As membership coordinator, you are the main person to encourage people to join.

With all of this money we have to keep track of, eventually, we need a person to make sure it’s going to all of the right places, and keeps in contact with anyone that’s bringing in money, either from cheese points or donors and makes sure the money gets used properly.

Historian / Media Management

Events Coordinator / Deli Operations

Helen Cho

Vinh Trinh

If we didn’t have a historian nobody would know what UW FeelGood is up to. The historian takes pictures of all of our events and shares them with everyone she knows. This way she gives people a taste of what they could be a part of.

The activities coordinator organizes events by figuring out dates, times, and locations. As the Deli Operations, you make sure people are signed up and we have a location to sell grilled cheese!

Campus Liaison / Public Relations Justin Choi This is the very much-needed position of talking to important people on campus and off that really make this organization exist.

Questions? Ask any of these new and old officers about FeelGood, how to get involved, and with anything else! Paige Edmiston: edmisp@u.washington.edu

Helen Cho: helen3@u.washington.edu

Amanda Tran: amandatranrocks@gmail.com

Justin Choi: jcali915@gmail.com

Salyna Sek: salyns@uw.edu

Rachel Mangan: rmm28@uw.edu Be Cheesy! Get involved!

Organic Valley Earth Dinner On May 3rd, Feelgood and Repair the World joined together to host the first-ever UW Organic Valley Earth Dinner at Hillel. This event was created to get people interested about where their food comes from and to appreciate the famers who grow it. Before our presentation, we served are first ever grilled cheese sandwiches, made with cheese generously donated by Organic Valley. With a variety of delicious spreads, guests enjoyed their sandwiches while joining in conversation about food. After a wonderful presentation by Ariana Taylor-Stanley and Amelia Swinton from the Northwest Farm Bill Action Group, everyone left with full stomachs and thoughts about wonderful organic food.
