THE HI D D E N J O U R N E Y The landscape urbanism’s complexity is built in layers of space, time, culture, social and human activities. Design cannot be purely based on the present circumstances, but needs to consider the unpredictable changes of nature and man. This project is about staging Guangzhou as a distinctive, innovative, engaging, entertaining and a cultural precinct to the world. As well as to show the world that China, Guangzhou, is not only a fast growing city in an economic sense, but offers an abundance of culture and creativity that deserves recognition. The new proposed cultural precinct within Guangzhou inner city should contribute to citywide strategies and actions associated with promoting the Guangzhou’s cultural vitality.

THE BLUE HEART Landscape ecological system is borderless, the border that we are referring today is based on the political terms. With all the basis of serious warning, concerning the depletion of resources and vastly diminishing biodiversity, global warning and rising sea levels, our modern materialistic and hedonistic lifestyle are simply untenable in a long run.

THE 28 BAXTER STREET This project evokes Fortitude Valley’s contradicting trademarks – the exciting sophistication of the young business hub, the creative flair of the artistic scene, the exciting elements of its entertainment zone, and the boutique features of organic, independent cafés. Urban communal space was required to soften the building structure and provide a great relaxing outdoor open space for the residents to enjoy.

EM TOOTH AGED CAR E The design concept is to focus on offering an green open space for all aged people to build up the connection with aged grouped and the community. The design aimed to adapt the architecture to the environment and achieve excellent views of the open green space and the bush setting. The open space allows residents to explore and imagine new worlds to reduce the loneliness and whilst not being inhabited by the closed building.

T H E G R E E N WA L L The Moreton Bay City Council desires to improve the environment and helping to make the cities we live in more sustainable. The green walls help the brick council building become more energy efficient which leads to a decrease in carbon emissions. It also mitigate the urban heat island effect, absorb and filter stormwater, reduce pollution and act as carbon sinks. As well as bringing a softer element to the building in juxatposition to the red brick building.

G RIF F ITH UNIVERSIT Y AQ UATI C CENTRE Griffith University’s new aquatic centre is a specialist training centre located at Griffith University’s Gold Coast campus, the open-air FINA accredited pool facility with associated spectator seating, is designed to enhance the core university precinct and establish an engaging and transparent facility that encourages public engagement and accessibility.

K R ES I DENT S A series of diverse, textural and dynamic “garden zones are the result of a close collaboration between the building and the voids. The project is located in Brisbane, and it makes perfect sense to integrate the interior and exterior spaces as closely as possible due to its subtropical warm climate. The highlight of the house is the rock pool and spa for the busy family to relax and enjoy.

CO O RPARO O SQU ARE The physical study model shows how the site provides connection to the neighbourhood by establishing a relationship with the physical context. Originally a historical major retail precinct for Brisbane, the intent of the development is the creation of subtropical, shady pedestrian focused streets and spaces. The development promotes delineation of the streets and maintains a human scale to all edges and spaces.

THE WALLFLOW ERS Shortlisted art installation has been displayed in Queensland State Library. The ‘Wallflower’s’ aim was to generate a movement that recognises the historical buildings within Brisbane CBD. ‘City Electrical Light Junction boxes’ that still remain in the CBD, are situationed in front of every hertitage listed building, which now remains as histortic artefacts that is no longer understood and known of its purpose today. Each individual element of the installation was a 3D illustration which connects between the historical buildings from one point to another. Through the physical connection of these historic buildings and electric boxes, ‘The Wallflower’ purpose is to draws people’s attention to stopp and look at the historical elements situated in the city today.
