The answers to last week’s politics quiz are :

The two politicians were Trump and Putin.

Brain teasers! Before Mount Everest was discovered, what was the highest mountain in the world? I tower over the man-made plain; My peaks scrape the heavens. I have many brothers; in fact, We may be as many as a hundred and seven. We're as ancient as the oldest trees, But not older than the hills. We've been studied for centuries now, But with mystery we're still filled

Old local pictures where were they taken?

Machu Picchu, Peru While the intricate stone ruins of Machu Picchu are the work of 15th-century Inca rulers, not Mother Nature, it's the site's natural setting that makes it so alluring. Perched atop the flattened peak of a mountain, the ancient Wonder of the World benefits from the famous backdrop of Huayna Picchu, lush green surfaces, and a barrier of Andean peaks that, despite the landmark's fame, makes you feel like you've

Thought of the week! Isn’t it interesting how we are all socialised differently? From dress sense to ideologies; the different classes within society even ‘care’ differently. Look at this image and study what it’s really saying. Do you agree/disagree? Why? As social beings and the smartest animals in the world, can you accept inequality in modern Britain? Or are we living in a modern Feudal system?

Calling all writers! Do you have opinions which cannot be contained? Are you interested in analysing the world and it’s weird and wonderful within it? You can be a writer for ‘The Important Questions’. All you have to do is email: sgarip@rodingvalley.net With a topic/issue/problem/question of your choice. It can be on anything you desire… even if it is to question why we have not invested in a four headed giraffe and tiger hybrid yet!

History read of the week Some true crime this week with a link to both the A Level politics course for feminism, Year 10 Crime and Punishment and Year 8 studying Whitechapel. ‘The Five’ is the only book written about the five women killed by Jack the Ripper which doesn’t just focus on their murders. The history of the Ripper murders has for a long time focused on the man we know as Jack the Ripper. Despite no-one knowing his or her identify, motives or why the murders suddenly stop. This has been the attraction of the Ripper murders to historians and Ripperologists alike. However, this has meant that the lives of the women, of whom we know a great deal, has gone untold. ‘The Five’ sets to address this gap in the study of the Ripper murders. SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER WINNER OF THE BAILLIE GIFFORD PRIZE FOR NONFICTION 2019 'An angry and important work of historical detection, calling time on the misogyny that has fed the Ripper myth. Powerful and shaming' GUARDIAN
