Welcome I hope everyone is well and safe. I am extremely proud of all the work that has been produced whilst learning at home. Here are some tips to aide you with your home learning in Maths. Your Maths teachers are available for questions by e-mail and are there to support you when you get stuck. Make sure to login and look at Google Classroom for assignments. There are a number of sites that are there to support you with tutorial videos, two of which are corbettmaths.com and mathsgenie.com. If you do have any issues that you need further help with I am also available to help, my email is oedeko@rodingvalley.net. TTRockstars TTRockstars is a times table practice and learning application that can be used to give your child extra practice at their times tables. In addition TTRockstars has a local and online competitive element that allows them to compete against their peers, other children in local schools and even users all over the world. Chess Corner We are sure you are all missing chess club just as much as Mr Dennis! We have put together our best chess tips and tricks to share with you. The first tip is
Tip 1: “Castle” early…
Castling is a move that allows you to move your king to safety and bring your rook into play. Once all the squares between your rook the king are unoccupied you can move the king two squares toward the rook while the rook moves to the square on the king’s other side. If your opponent neglects to castle, you might be able to launch an attach on his king. This is the only move in which more than one piece may be moved in a turn.
