We have reached the end of one of the busiest terms that I can remember. I would like to thank the Roding Valley staff for all of their hard work over the last three months. The Year 11s will be very well prepared for their GCSEs and it has been great to speak to so many grateful parents who have highlighted how much support their sons and daughters have received. I have also been speaking to lots of students who have told me how their teachers have gone above and beyond the call of duty to help them. Many staff and Year 11 students will be in next week for the Easter Revision School and with this level of commitment we have high expectations for the summer. Thank you all for your ongoing support. I hope you have a well deserved break over Easter. James Luck Headteacher
Message from the Chair of Governors We were very pleased to welcome Matthew Tinker to the meeting of the Full Governing Body on 20 March. Matthew gave a short presentation on his work for the Epping Forest Youth Council and his plans following his election to the Young Essex Assembly and UK Youth Parliament. He is committed to youth democracy and to volunteering to work to support other young people. He has specific concerns regarding bullying and stress. He is also enthusiastic to encourage more young people to volunteer and is seeking to overcome bureaucratic hurdles which are sometimes present. He has already raised issues with Eleanor Laing MP and Boris Johnson. Matthew’s enthusiasm is infectious. We wish him well for the future and look forward to learning of his progress in the months to come. Paul Wershof Chair of Governors
