Ms Taylor’s Book of June Lorna Doone by R.D. Blackmore is set in 17th

century Devon and Somerset. It follows the Doones, Read it here: once a rich aristocratic family, now a gang of poor https:// criminals, and John Ridd, who despises the Doone www.gutenberg.o family as his father was murdered by them. John meets Lorna, not knowing she is the rg/ebooks/17460 granddaughter of Sir Ensor Doone, and the novel centers on their relationship. Blackmore explores ideas about law and order, class, wealth and status in the novel. It has all the ingredients of a good read: adventure; romance and humour.

Our identity is a key part of who we are. It is something to be proud of. We should strive, as a society to have positive representations in the media of all different types of people. That is why this week, we have showcased some great pieces of writing by brilliant BAME authors. We hope you enjoy.
