6 Filet Schmaltz Herring, soaked overnight in cold water to cover in the fridge 5 hard boiled eggs 1 tart apple 2 medium onions 3 slices of rye sprinkled with water and vinegar (squeeze out liquid after soaking overnight in fridge and throw bread away, keeping liquid)

Drain Herring and throw water away Add in ½ cup sugar and 2 tablespoons vinegar Chop all ingredients and toss together
