Travel Corner Join us on Thursday, August 9 at 3:00 pm for the monthly JCSC Seniors on the Go travel meeting. The travel team is gathering ideas and information for the 2019 trips. They will be revealed at the annual Let’s Go Travel Show. Mark your calendars now and plan to attend on Tuesday, October 16 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. We’ll have entertainment, snacks, door prizes, and information on some great trips! Some tips for motorcoach travel: •
Tours operate on a schedule. It’s important that you are always on time for departures. You definitely DO NOT want to be the last person boarding a full bus!
•
Parking in larger cities is very limited; the bus may only have a few minutes in a designated parking spot to load or unload passengers. If you’re late returning to your designated pickup spot after free time, you may be left. Once the bus leaves, it will not be able to return to pick up late passengers.
•
Most of the trips will require a lot of walking. Passengers are not permitted to remain on the bus during visits to attractions or free time. Often, the bus may be required to park some distance away from the dropoff site and passengers may be required to walk to the parking area. While travel is fun for most people, please be aware of your personal limitations when considering which trips you would like to participate in. Travelers needing assistance must be accompanied by a companion.
•
Alcohol and tobacco products (including e-cigarettes) are not permitted on the bus at any time.
•
Single passengers are not guaranteed to sit alone on the bus. On a full coach, you will have someone sitting beside you. But what a great opportunity to make a new friend!
•
Passengers are responsible for keeping up with their personal items. The bus will not be able to return to any of the stops to retrieve lost items.
