THE LANGSTON ROAR ENTER TO LEARN. DEPART TO SERVE. Langston Program Makes Mural for 2020 Turkey Trot By John Brooks The organizers for the Turkey Trot commissioned the children from the Langston Center to create a mural for the annual race. It was a true team effort as everyone pulled together to make their mark on the popular local event. Led by educator and artist, Miss Amber, the gang worked hard to serve the community in their own special way. Congrats kids on a great job.
My Time at Langston
For the past year about I’ve been coming to Langston after by Willie Edmisten school from 3-6 pretty much every day. At my time at the Langston center I have learned a thing or two and not just about S.T.E.A.M. but about who I am and my potential. Whenever I signed up for Langston and had my first days here I was very shy and just wanted to be cool in front of the 3 other kids in my classes. Whenever Langston closed I was…devastated because that was my second home where I could just get away from all my worries and problems. But over quarantine I found who I really was and who I need to be, William. (I also found my missing sock but, that’s a whole other story!) So in this article/review as being a veteran to the Langston center I say that Langston is more than an after school program, The teachers and kids there are more than strangers, This place is easily a home and the people here are family. I suggest and wish that every kid in the world could go to Langston, But for now I’m enjoying it while it lasts because I won’t be coming here as a student next year (hopefully I can still come here though as a volunteer.) So it doesn’t matter who you or your kid is or how anybody looks get them at Langston center today and they too will be welcomed with open arms as well...that is, if they don’t have Covid-19.
