JCSC Foundation News Thank You!....To everyone who made a donation, volunteered their time to wrap, pack or deliver Christmas Boxes. With the many generous donations the Johnson City Senior Center Foundation Board was able to deliver 250 boxes to local low income seniors. These boxes

were filled with food and home supplies to help our seniors have a Merry Christmas. I am not sure who received a greater blessing, the one receiving the box or the individuals who helped to make the boxes possible. Without your support this program would not be possible. Again thank you!

Please call 434-5723, 48 hours in advance to reserve a meal or if you need to cancel a meal that you have already signed up for. Sign up sheets are also available outside of the dining room.

The Milligan Arts Council presents an evening that will lift your eyes, mind, and spirit with the Mountain Movers Dance Company, a modern dance company that weaves stories from thin air. Through cutting-edge aerial techniques, dancers suspend, spin, drop, and fly on floor, fabric, trapeze, and aerial hoop. Established in 1982, Mountain Movers Dance Company works from Azure Aerial Arts studio, where their members train, teach and create. They also are the resident modern company at ETSU.

Coming in March! Jonesborough Repertory Theatre The Foreigner Saturday, March 10, Leave MPCC at 1:15 p; return approx. 6:30p Cost: $16 per person The scene is a fishing lodge in rural Georgia often visited by “Froggy” LeSeuer, a British demolition expert who occasionally runs training sessions at a nearby army base. This time “Froggy” has brought along a friend, a pathologically shy young man named Charlie who is overcome with fear at the thought of making conversation with strangers. So “Froggy,” before departing, tells all assembled that Charlie is from an exotic foreign country and speaks no English. Once alone the fun really begins, as Charlie overhears more than he should—the evil plans of a sinister, twofaced minister and his redneck associate; the fact that the minister’s pretty fiancée is pregnant; and many other damaging revelations made with the thought that Charlie doesn’t understand a word being said. What he does fuels the nonstop hilarity of the play and sets up the wildly funny climax in which things go uproariously awry for the “bad guys.” Please register by March 2! Dinner reservations will be at the Black Olive in Jonesborough after the show. The Black Olive cost is on your own!

Dominion Senior Living of Johnson City Ava’s Angels There is nothing more rewarding than listening to stories, lessons, and experiences that the residents at Dominion have to share. Every couple of months we are blessed with the wonderful children from Westminister Presbyterian Church’s Youth Group. Their cheerful spirits fill the room as they interact and develop new friendships with the residents. We value the relationships built from the youth visiting our community as well as the opportunity for our residents to share their fascinating stories with a younger generation. Dominion could not be more thankful for such a friendly and selfless group of young people. We could not be more blessed to have Westminster as neighbors both in proximity and in spirit.
