Dominion Senior Living of Johnson City Dominion Wants to Sock Out Alzheimer's One of our favorite events to participate in as a community and team is when we are able to come together to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer’s Disease. Many lives have been touched by this disease in one way or another whether it be as a caregiver, family member, friend, or facing a diagnosis yourself. Each spring, Alzheimer’s Tennessee does a SOCK OUT Alzheimer’s Day. Everyone puts on purple and orange socks to draw people’s attention to our vision: making Alzheimer’s a memory. This is one small way our team participates and this year our team members knocked it out of the park! Everywhere you looked someone was walking past you with their pants rolled up just enough to show their awesome socks. The first Saturday in April every year we will gather with hundreds of others from around our community for our annual Light the Way Walk with the Northeast Division of Alzheimer’s Tennessee. It is events like our annual Sock Out Day, Legislative Day, and annual fundraisers that draw our attention back to the real reason that we do what we do; we have a heart for seniors and want to honor God through our service to them. It is because of the wonderful residents in our community that we will continue to work towards a future without Alzheimer’s Disease.
