Final Thoughts & Goals Overall, this was a great year in the library. Over 28,000 students used the library this year, whether it be for a book, some technology, a place to study, meet with a group, or to attend on one of the many events sponsored by the library. This is a place that is for all staff and students. I look to maintain that positive atmosphere next year. Here are other goals for the 20162017 school year for the library: ● The physical space : looking to get more mobile shelving in the center space in order to reconfigure the space easily for speakers, lunches, meetings, etc. ● Technology: the library needs to be the place for the best technology tools and equipment. It can serve as an inspiration for staff and students on ways to not only incorporate technology in the classroom, but can make academic life easier. The equipment I have now does not do this. Faster equipment needed. ● Frequent fliers: look at ways to better address those students who are frequently out of class and take a “tour” through the library, often causing small disruptions, but also are not where they should be. This was something that was noted by the partners in the SelfStudy. ● Build more Professional Development opportunities through the library : each Tuesday, I send out a “Tuesday Tips” email with a tech tip and a book recommendation. These have been well received, I’d like to look at other ways to provide PD to teachers here in these small scale ways.
