HAPPY SUMMER! Pat Walker, Director of Community and Professional Programs I hope each of you are enjoying some travel, sunny weather, and time outside. I am already ready for some cooler weather again. Cooler weather and travel bring back fond memories of our Italy trip from the spring. We had an amazing trip. Forty of us traveled to Italy to explore Rome, Montepulciano, Siena, and Florence. Lifelong friendships were made, and bucket list goals were met. It was the trip of a lifetime. This helped us to realize that our OLLI group loves to travel together. We are planning our next trip to Athens, Greece, and the Greek Islands on October 11-19, 2022. Check for details and registration information on the website. I am excited to see the beautiful, postcard worthy views of Mykonos and Santorini and learn more about the history of Athens. We are also in full swing planning our next adventures. Please let me know where you would like to travel. The leading requests currently are for a land/sea cruise to Alaska and a guided tour to New Zealand.
In the fall, we will also take advantage of the nice weather by planning some local day trips for everyone. Trips and travel are not the only thing we are involved in these days. We are offering many new classes and adding new instructors, but we will always provide the same quality of classes and the camaraderie of the OLLI Clubroom. It is time to sign up for the clubroom again for this year. Registrations start again in July and those members that join can take advantage of 10% off their OLLI class registrations (exceptions noted on the website) for the fiscal year as well as free coffee, use of the library and computers in the OLLI suite. I hope you will give it a try this year. We are always here for your suggestions and look forward to hearing from you.
