THE ONLY CONSTANT IS CHANGE AND WE DO THAT WITH PLEASURE. It is time for a change: you are holding the first issue of the Kuhn Rikon magazine. In addition to the “yummy” recipes in it you will also find exciting stories from the world of cooking, inspiring ideas from our development engineers and designers, new products as well as a glimpse behind the scenes at Kuhn Rikon. We have been inspiring cooks with our products all around the globe since 1926. Recent decades have wrought incredible change in the world. But one thing has not changed: the pleasure we take from good food and spending time with loved ones and friends. Our vision “cooking with Kuhn Rikon in every kitchen” motivates our 250 employees day after day. We set for ourselves new challenges with optimism and innovative strength – balancing themes such as
limited resources, increasing digitalisation, while maintaining the production site in Switzerland. To do this we think in Rikon – this small village in the Zurich Oberland – globally, longterm and customeroriented. KUHN RIKON APP THE NEW DIGITAL COOKING ASSISTANT The new Kuhn Rikon App makes cooking easier and saves time. Your favourite recipes turn out perfectly thanks to the precise step-by-step instructions. Countless tried and tested recipes have been installed for all types of cooking. It doesn’t matter whether you use Kuhn Rikon cookware or other pots and pans. Select your recipe in the app and preferred cooking method. A risotto lovingly stirred in your favourite pan? Or in 7 minutes from the DUROMATIC®? Or perhaps you would prefer something soft cooked in our HOTPAN® cookware? Follow the instructions and select your cooking method. Specifically with the DUROMATIC® Comfort the app also shows whether the pan has been closed properly and the temperature sensors constantly report the cooking time remaining when “guided cooking” is used. This results in successful cooking with no burning. By the way; the app is continually being expanded with new «yummy» recipes and tips. AH! OH! AVOCADO! GREEN SUPER FOOD This green power food is booming. Thanks to its valuable Avocados have become a staple of healthy eating and is especially popular served as guacamole.
The avocado is enjoying growing popularity worldwide and is regarded as a healthy superfood. It contains everything the body needs to stay healthy: many unsaturated fatty acids, valuable minerals and vital B-vitamins, as well as vitamin A, carotene, biotin and vitamin E. It should however be kept in mind that a 100 grams of the fruit is replete with 217 calories. Thus it is not a diet food. In many simple recipes it does taste deliciously nutty. As classic guacamole, fanned out on toast, as a

spread, cooked with vegetables or in a smoothie. The avocado originates in Mexico. The trees grow over 20 m high. More than 400 sorts are now cultivated worldwide. The high demand for avocados is not without problems as some tropical forests are being cleared for its cultivation and the water consumption is very high. When purchasing the fruit due regard should therefore be paid to sustainability. And how do we know one is ripe? It’s quite simple: it gives to slight pressure.
