The Rose & the Nightingale by Oscar Wilde Costume for Live Performance

Performance is a painful visual imagery of Nightingale’s journey of creating the rose. The Nightingale symbolises a passionate artist and his/her process of creating a masterpiece and its aftermath. By the end of the performance you are left questioning the thought behind every artistic creation than the creation itself.

The Visit by Friedrich Durrenmatt Costume for Film

The film attempts to map the emotional journey of the lead character Claire, from being a young girl trapped in societal norms to an old bitter revenge seeking lady. Costume creates a bridge between emotional vulnerable state and its physical repercussions on the body.

Tribes Back to white Street Theatre

Performance was visualised as a chorus of devils, who are viciously looking for weak and fragile souls to trap and drag down to eternal hell but who are also narrating their own story of metamorphosis from angels to demons. The costume strives to extend the body shape through live transformation of the garments and focuses on the expressivity through the face or lack of it.

Prints & Impressions Traditional techniques Modern interpretations

These are few selected samples created by using traditional techniques of resist dyeing to impart visual texture. Experimented by resisting the fabric by using different objects and dyeing it multiple times to create textures which are unique and difficult to replicate. (Green print is created by using a pencil, whereas yellow and orange marble texture is obtained by resisting fabrics of different densities.)
