On a Pilsner - not only in 2015!
A tourist attraction of western Bohemia is the foundation of Wenceslas II., at the intersection of trade routes between Prague and the country's borders (1295), settlement called Pilsen. The convenient location helped this place quickly to prosperity. Trade and art flourished, which was also reflected in a rather unconventional architectural development, which has spawned into a rather picturesque town centre. Particularly successful here is the cultural and adventure tourism and the 168,000 inhabitants are proud of becoming European Capital of Culture 2015.
A certain highlight is the Czech brewing tradition that has undergone a tasteful "Pilsner Urquell", which is worldwide famous. A visit to this brewery founded in 1842 and its museum is a must.
Just across the street, a flyover leads you to the centrally located 4-star design hotel "angelo Pilsen". This modern hotel becomes automatically an ideal starting point for interesting city tours. Here you can not only sleep peacefully, but also enjoy excellent food in the restaurant "Sunlight". Staying longer than just one day of exploring the historic centre of Pilsen you can also relax in the fitness centre of the “angelo as it provides sauna, steam bath and massage. After such treatment and a pleasant dinner you can recap the impressions of the cultural capital in front of an open fireplace in the "Jazz" bar.
One more thing: In this hotel the price / performance ratio is well balanced even so how Pilsner beer companies combine hops, malt and water really professionally. Text: Wolfgang G. K端lper
