From the Flagship onto the Red Carpet
In the heart of Vienna it is nearly impossible to find an inexpensive hotel with a lot of history and design, is probably how to search for the needle in the haystack. This is now over! Since the end of 2014, the Motel One Wien-Staatsoper offers moderate rates. This hotel is truly an ideal starting point for exploring the sights of the metropolis at the river Danube. State Opera, St. Stephen's or Spanish Riding School can be seen in short walking distance. Of course there are also just around the corner subways, buses and trams. The latter is a splendid way to get an insight about the legendary 1st District rather effective.
The Motel One Wien-Staatsoper has 400 rooms. Upon entering you feel the oldViennese charm, after all, is the house of the 19th / 20th Century listed buildings. Nevertheless, the whole interior does not work baroque, but rather modern – by its well selected furniture, lighting and carpets - quite refreshing. The rooms are bright and friendly. Guests are sleeping on box springs (and the bed covers are made from 100% Egyptian cotton. The bathroom glances in granite and glass with Dornbrachtfixtures and the shower has even a rain function. The towels are soft and cuddly.
The standard rooms have instead of a wardrobe just clothes rails, which save space. Under a Loewe-TV a mobile desk allows you to work or put utilities on it.
As the room rates are quite acceptable, again the price for a breakfast kept so low that you do not have to look around for a fast food restaurant nearby. Going to the breakfast cafe already is an experience by itself. With natural stone floors and oak wooden floors, stucco, velvet and gold design elements the guest is abducted into the world of the Staatsoper. On edgewise screens (at the bar) run Impressions from the opera with details from the ballet or the orchestra. During summer the outdoor lounge is certainly a place for taking another coffee or a drink.
The squared courtyard offers also a look up by admiring the golden light frames, which make sure that the daylight in this airy lounge, is always quite bright.
It is recommended not to take the lift but to go over's staircase up or down. Here you see the Art Nouveau in its originality. The railing and wall tiles tell confirms it. Therefore, this hotel can be called the Flagship of Motel One group.
And the red carpet will be enrolled once a year during the Vienna Opera Ball for their guests; because here there you get quality for less money!
