Marta Duran
Marta Duran belongs to that particular group of artist who perfect their style whilst advancing their knowledge of what they want to say. She wishes to be known for her painting but beforehand she wants to be sure, as much as possible, of what she is trying to artistically and how she is going to do it. Josep Maria Cadena Art critic
Sir Kenneth Clark, in his excellent essay “The art of Landscape”, argues for “the use of landscape as expression of our emotions” and the work of Marta Duran responds to the definition of the English critic. Mario Antolin Paz President of the Madrid Association of Art Critics

The brush of Marta Duran reflects the glance of one who knows that the complexity of things can only be suggested, and the horizon moves away with every step we take. Josep Maria Montserrat Director- Barcelona Botanic Garden

Marta Duran
In front of a painter who chooses blue and insists in using it, we need to remember Kandinsky’s thoughts about this colour: “The deeper the blue becomes, the more strongly it calls man towards the infinite, awakening in him a desire for the pure and, finally, for the supernatural...The brighter it becomes, the more it loses its sound, until it turns into silent stillness and becomes white. Marta Duran has not chosen blue mindlessly, but has done it because of its content. Thus it is the colour that binds the exterior with the interior; nature with spirit. Francesc Miralles Art critic
