BIBLIO: FUTURISTIC PUBLIC LIBRARY
The quest for knowledge is eternal in humankind. The role of a public library in enlightening the common masses is well proved by its immense effect reaching towards all classes of society. It acts as a window through which common people can view the world in the most economic ways and imparts knowledge, develops awareness and shapes public minds. This studio projects aims to design a public library withing a lakefront premise of South Kolkata. The design is considerate towards the climate, functionality, social interactions, and circulation patterns of all kinds of users.

The aluminium grid supported skylight over the atrium provides diffused light to the indoor spaces. The atrium acts as a social interaction space which can be used for gatherings, discussions, performances, events like open mics etc. which can be looked upon from the view deck. The open balcony space provides reading in fresh air and view of the lake. The space has planters and potted plants as well as comfortable individual sofas for maximum relaxation for casual reading. The formal reading spaces is at the corner with book racks along the edges. This ensures maximum natural light through full height windows and skylights.

LECTURE HALL COMPLEX WITH ACCOMMODATION
This studio project is aimed to design a lecture hall complex having halls of various capacities - 50, 100, 250 and 500 and double sharing student accomodation. It will not only serve the students in campus but also for hosting various conferences and talks happening in the campus throughout the year. The visitors from other universities being accomodated in certain rooms booked for the purpose. The site is situated in the academic area of IIT Kharagpur. The design is developed in a radial style using sector-shaped halls connected by wide corridors. The open green spaces and courtyards inside the complex are well planned as per the climate and create fresh feeling of nature as well.

THE HERIRAGE RANN: DESERT BASED TOURIST RESORT
This studio project is aimed to design a cultural and heritage resort at a chosen site close to a desert pertaining to the typical hot and dry climate. The chosen site is in Dholavira, situated nearby the great white sand desert of Rann of Kutch in the state of Gujarat, India. Vehicular access to the cottages is given to provide comfort to the road journey tourists. The design is focused to make tourists aware of and promote the local art and cultural heritage. The tourist resort welcomes both the local and international tourists.

The plan is developed by a thorough study of the user behavior and circulation with the help of a bubble diagram. It also houses spaces for social gatherings and traditional and cultural activities.

The design focuses on the local climate and local culture, architecture, and heritage as well as the tourists’ comfort and experience. The design incorporates the traditional design features of the hot and dry climate. Easy circulation with minimum crossing of paths of different types of users (tourists, administration and staff) is maintained by separate entries and designated areas. The courtyard in between the residential spaces acts as an interaction space as well as a multi utility space for activities by which tourists can experience local culture and tradition promoting local festivals, arts and crafts, fashion, dance styles, and cuisine. Moreover, the design provides a very natural experience of a hot and dry street with compact buildings and natural vegetation providing shade and bringing down the temperature.

CUBE-C: STUDENT CAFETERIA AT IIT KHARAGPUR
This studio project aims to design a student cafeteria near the academic area of IIT Kharagpur. It would cater fast food to the students as well as the professors in between of and after classes. The required capacity is 50. The site was analysed as per sun path, wind directions and views. The proposed design also has landscaping features and open outdoor seating. The first floor has a balcony for having a wide view of the iconic academic building of IIT.

NATURAL WONDERS: THEMATIC BOUTIQUE RESTAURANT
In modern times, with the increase of work pressure, stress, the need for quality recreation is also growing. This studio project aims to design a Thematic Boutique Restaurant, where customers will discover a wonder environment based on a theme to present a quality environment to suit the varied food choice and expectations of valued customers. ‘Wonders of Nature’ is the theme of this restaurant and it creates the ambience of a few astonishing natural wonders around the world by stimulating the same environment inside the restaurant.

I have always enjoyed making physical models for my own as well as for seniors’ academic works. The artworks were made by me in the Graphics and Visual Communication course [1st sem].

In today’s world of digital media, graphics play the most important role in communication. I have made several graphic illustrations and still am exploring graphic art using Procreate on iPad. I consider photography as one of my hobbies and I always keep looking for aesthetically pleasing frames and angles.
