❖ ABOUT ME Growing up in a world where motor vehicles are constantly developing through ever advancing technology has led to my increasing fascination with becoming a professional automotive designer. From a young age I have been interested in innovative designs of car manufactures and their knowledge of the target market in today’s society, Automotive design has had a huge impact in the 21st century. The challenges and demands on the motor industries, such as safety, recourses and sustainability will continue to impact on its development. Becoming a automotive designer would be the ideal job for me as it would enable me to peruse my dreams and ambitions to play an influential role in the car industry.

My main passion beyond my designing, is sport, in particular cricket; I have represented my local club and Northampton district. Earning several awards through out my cricketing career has also gave me an insight of ‘hard work pays off’, also ‘practice makes perfect’. Sport has taught me the importance of communication. Team work and self-reliance, as well as leadership skill, self discipline and capacity for commitment; these qualities will benefit me when it comes to achieving my goals in life. Studying at University has taught me how to manage my time, which I think will be especially important whilst working for clients and businesses. I am really looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that are to come.

THE CONCEPT

introduction The all-new Range Rover has a clean and elegant shape which is derived from a fresh new interpretation of Range Rover design cues. While instantly recognizable as a Range Rover, the new vehicle takes a significant step forward with a bold evolution of the model’s iconic design language. True to the Range Rover DNA, the new model features the unique Command Driving Position, placing the driver in an elevated, lower seating position – typically over 100mm lower than other premium coupes – to provide a supreme sense of confidence and control. The luxurious interior is modern and pure character, incorporating distinctive Range Rover design cues, but with a fresh and very contemporary treatment. The cabin retains the characteristic strong, architectural forms, and these are emphasized by extremely clean and elegant surfaces which are flawlessly executed using the finest leathers and veneers.

LEADERS TAKE RESPSONABILTIY Alexander McGovern High earning and works in the city, travelling 120 miles on a work day commute, lives in the suburbs with a family of three, in a large detached house with two vehicles, one being a Ranger Rover sport, for school runs and a Mercedes SLS for a weekend drive. Hence why combining a large 4 wheel drive car and super car into one this would make it more ideal for the user to have best of both worlds as he is getting both the children in the back seat but also having an extra seat for his wife.

My client is 30 years old forward minded and creative leader in business IT in central London , he is living at a high economic level that there is no limit of restrictions. He knows the value of time and opportunity, he acknowledge that he has the power to change the economic crisis. His motto is think the impossible. He is not only trying to be wealthy, he tries to share his power to make a healthier community. He knows what it takes to become a leader in today's society and has great understanding about the responsibilities of his position.

INTERIOR IDEATION

products are well known for being outstanding on off-road territory, but as Range Rover is aimed at a more specified in being more luxurious and prestigious market, my focus will be on the Ranger Rover. Comfort and lots of space has been a design trend for range rover designers. But in my personal aspect I have found that range rover haven't gone outside their comfort zone in designing something new after the Evoque was produced in 2011. As the design language changed for ranger rover after the Evoque was produced the car range seem more appealing to the brand image

A form of art and conceptual combined into a design, with the sleek blowing rear end and unique oval shape window to give extraordinary vision of the outside world, luxury yet eco friendly materials.

SPLIT VIEW DOOR OPENING Door function will be two option where the windows go above the vehicles roof and the door panel moving out and back. Due to the weight of the door being large the window has been lifted to go up therefore there is a weight difference for the mechanics of the sliding door.

ICONIC STYLING With the Range Rover being know for superior quality the Recon offers two seat trim options. Here are some ideation sketches of the interior components demonstrating the difference between the tow line packages, experimenting from different angles t o see where I could represent the range Rovers interior. But in a high hind sleek and elegant styles, similar to the Rage Rover interior I wanted to keep the style and layout

Interior

Visual experience Driving mode – all seats are faced front but the cockpit has been designed to give that stealth luxury feel. Lounge mode – once the vehicle has come to a stop the front seating is able to turn 180 degrees to give a lounge experiment and face occupants in the rear. Office mode – as our persona has a work schedule he needs an office on the go where he can do work at anytime the vehicle transforms into a studio for the occupant

DRIVING EXPERICENCE Just got better With the new improved heads up display with actual screen gestures that can improve navigations i.e. which lanes to be in and what speed is set, the screen has pressured sensor with cameras on the outer area of the car to make the navigation work. Satellite signals also help the accuracy of what speed or area you are at, approving with news feed updates as well the new gear changing is quick and easy to learn for example starting the vehicle would be tapping the pad. The turquoise illuminated screen will then appear this also indicates the vehicle is now .With photospheres giving a 3D representation of the surroundings traffic, and a full width display giving camera feedback and video messaging the Range Rover Recon a fully equipped office motion steering wheel emerges from the panel under the instruments for driving manual.

INTERACTION The mechanical function behind the door is used by only a bracket. Materials consist of leather with different types of stitching, piping, double or single to fit the needs of the individual, other materials that are consisted in the vehicle door panels is brushed aluminum and piano black to give that luxurious feel to the interior cabin

Touch Feel A mixture between saffron beige ivory white leather and chrome to give the feel of pure luxury in a vehicle, the embossed logos in the front and rear head rests, with illuminated logos beneath the foot well to give a soft touch near the feet

The ambient lighting aesthetically complements the interiors and gives you a profound driving experience. You can monitor the glow and brightness in accordance with your preferences. The LED glow on the dashboards and the doors creates a soothing atmospheric vibe, which enhances the feel of the driving experience.

MOOD CHANGING Ambient The ambient lighting used on the outlines of consoles highlights the bold shapes and curves of the dashboard. The LED’s and light emission diodes can be customized to complement the dÊcor of your car. These lights last longer and consume less energy than the regular bulbs used mostly in dome lighting.

Regeneration This two door luxury coupe competes with the Mercedes SClass coupe, with a long wheel base that lends an elegant and exclusive image about the vehicle. Not only is it good looking but also has the refined power of a super car. Unique features that are seen on the Range Rover models have been uniquely design to fit the cars profile and image. Door features include large door that slides back to assist all passenger from front and back to get out without moving the seat forward.

Every brand desires to communicate a strong and unique message to capture the essence of their products, and it is critical that the end-user experience is consistent with the brand’s message. The visual brand language is a culmination of the design of forms, finishes, colors, and features, which help the consumer identify the brand . The contemporary design language of the Land Rover can be traced back to Maurice Wilks, who is credited for the inspiration and concept work that became the original Land Rover. Born from the chassis of a surplus military Jeep, the Land Rover vehicle became a symbol for quality and indestructibility. With a strong connection to its past, Land Rover takes pride in its ability to maintain its heritage while creating new emotional experiences for its customers.

He is an adventurous man who loves outdoor activities, including hiking, sailing, and travel. He maintains his earnestness and ruggedness through his leisure activities. He appreciates and expects that the products he purchases will use high-quality materials, because he understands that quality will ensure the performance and longevity he requires.

The lion is a proud and dominant animal that can live up to the standards of the Land Rover brand. Additionally, England has a long tradition of incorporating lions and royalty.

Innovation driven Monolithic, where the key feature of the brand vehicle company is shown mostly on the car model ranges , key features to the vehicle would include the placement of the badge, front grill, bumper style, body panels and bumper designs. On the Volvo brand we can identify key features that the range have e.g. lights integrated with the grill and the side vents blemishing into the shut day opening line

2020 is almost 5 years from now. Yet it may seem far away but what are designers trying to establish in 5 years times?. Something radical, hovering cars? What I’m trying to say is that technology of course changes everyday but cars in todays societies wont make a drastic change all of a sudden. For example when the i8 and i3 came out this was something beyond designing they wanted to produce a vision of what future cars and technology would bring

Intelligent thinking During the ideation sketch process there was several sketch's that I wanted to focus upon, keeping the same element features of the i8 but also making the vehicle having a lot more characteristics, as this was based on the same platform as the rolls Royce ghost, also trying to corporate HUGO BOSS in the styling.

Prestigious Luxury looks come from world wide inspiration the styling to the I lusso has been influenced from aftershave bottles to give that edge and shape lines, but also looking modern and conceptual, stealth grey to finish the paint work, with the Hugo boss log embossed in the rear lights, to improves the Hugo boss design.

STYLZING PERFECTION Presence The vehicle will have mode changing ambient lighting depending on the temperature inside the vehicle. Adjustable seating controls will be placed in the Centre embossed Hugo boss logo in seating. Each personal space with touch monitors and track pads in the Centre. Materials used are made from high quality leather yet eco friendly trims , that have been recycled

DYNAMIC CAN BE EFFICIENT The interior will have a unique styling yet keeping the layout the same a as production car , the interface will consists of a large screen in a shape that is stylized like a Hugo boss aftershave bottle, two touch screens in the rear for passengers the interface is simple clean like an android phone

Endless possibilities The styling has been influenced from an aftershave bottle from Hugo boos. For t example the door feature is identical to a HUGO BOSS aftershave lid opener, the materials used are light weight organic plastics hybrid materials. Crafted in the finest way for production . My designs aren't as wild as conceptual but realistic.

Individual Design

Interaction Imagine a vehicle with no seat belts. The technology that has enhanced into the I lusso with seat belt free technology. Occupants in the vehicle are monitored as they are seated , 6 sensor pads at the exact points of where materials have been made from memory foam so the occupants are s till able to move around. Front and rear seat monitors systems to adjust the seat with more comfort then never. Monitors are placed in the Centre for both front and back passengers

Autonomous

Just Swipe Swiping action across the door to open the gullwing door. Inside the vehicle is where a touch button is placed for all occupants to reach for the opening door button. An up arrow and down arrow to give an indication. Depending if the occupant has a smart phone they can install the smart key function which works just like the ordinary key. With sensors that can activate the touch feature, or opening the doors manually with the phone once the connected sign appears the smart key functions ready

CONNECT DRIVE

HANDS FREE Autonomous Temperature changing inside the vehicle depending on the degree. If its above 20 degrees inside the ambient will glow brighter if the vehicle drops below 20 degrees the glow will decrease. As if the daylight changes the vehicles light mode will change during the day. Once it has hit pitch black the occupants are surrounded in a pleasurable ambient warmth around the interior. Luxury mode changes the atmosphere inside to orange with a soft glow on the steering wheel and main trims around the car

Modern Characteristics The characteristics create a structure repeated in the car from many angles to give that luxurious streamlined look but with difference in specific functions. Inspiration came from the Mercedes cla as the modern German look for luxury but also practicality was influenced in their design. This is repeated in the Vauxhall Astra gran coupe with a sleek rear end keeping the design clean but also preserving the Vauxhall design language and key features

Here we have the first of the four styling's of the rc models, this has an aggressive front grille with large wheels to look sporty and also to top it off with a matte flat grey to give that feel of a sporty pick up truck

Formula E The formula e electric vehicle has been designed to seat 1,2 occupants inside the car. The packaging has been designed to make the car feel as light as possible. The flowing lines also give the car characteristics but mainly for aerodynamic. Sharp aggressive line to give a strong touch to the pocket rocket mainly specified to the male market, but still having a helmet shape surrounding inside the cabin to feel that full experience

Places Visited Recently I was able to go India where I was visiting different areas The main aspect that designers try to achieve is in India, I was grateful to have taken spectacular pictures of the the same presence as an unusual architectural scenery of the places I had visited, this was a great experience for building that stands out, and make people observe me as I could see how different countries compared to the the greatness behind the design This experience everyday life of Britain.
